Tuesday March 18, 2014 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Knowing about God is different than knowing God-
2-God doesn't need your money but does want your obedience-
3-Don't reduce God to what you can do and then ask him to bless it-
4-Being born again is a personal encounter with the truth that God has chosen us-
5-God cannot use anyone who thinks they know best-

STRANGE THOUGHT-English is a crazy language-How can an alarm go off by going on?

I'VE LEARNED-Repentance is all about the mind and heart-

DID YOU KNOW-Traveling by air is the safest means of transportation.  More people are killed by donkeys annually than are killed in plane crashes-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-How long did Sarah have to wait for her son Isaac to be born?
2-Did Abraham seek God's guidance about expelling Hagar and Ishmael as Sarah had asked him to do?
3-Is Ishmael the father of all the Arabs?
4-How could God bless Ishmael when he was an illicit son of Abraham?  Or did Ishmael's birth not carry a stigma with it?
5-What should our attitude be toward Muslims since they claim Ishmael is their connection to Abraham?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Who asked God the question?-"Who is able to judge this thy so great a people?"
Answer for today   Solomon  1 Kings 3:5-9

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY   Psalm 150
150 Praise the Lord!
Praise God in his Temple;
    Praise him in his mighty heaven.
Praise him for his strength;
    Praise him for his greatness.
Praise him with trumpet blasts;
    Praise him with harps and lyres.
Praise him with tambourines and dancing;
    Praise him with stringed instruments and flutes.
Praise him with loud cymbals;
    Praise him with crashing cymbals.
Let everything that breathes praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord!

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Thankful man
Father, though we deserve Your full wrath we are recipients of Your goodness and mercy in that You sent Your one and only Son, Jesus, into the world to die for our sins so that if we believe in Him we will not perish but have eternal life. Though we’re born with a sin problem You made provision for us to be forgiven, to walk in newness of life and to experience abundant life here below. Help us to be willing to forsake the affections of this world and its conflicting philosophies of the truth You prescribe in Scripture. You are the author and the very Personification of truth. We come to the Father in prayer through Jesus; the Way, the Truth and the Life. Amen.

I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING!
