Saturday April 4, 2015 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-The way we love shows others the strength of our commitment to serving God-
2-We must beware of compromising with wickedness-
3-An individual has a healthy personality to the exact degree to which they have the propensity to look for the good in every situation-
4-Every storm runs out of rain-
5-Sometimes, beauty is not so much hidden as it is unobserved-

STRANGE THOUGHT-Once in awhile someone amazing comes along.  Here I am-

I'VE LEARNED-Happiness is like a cloud-if you stare at it long enough it evaporates-

DID YOU KNOW-a funambulist is a tightrope walker

5 THINGS I WANT KNOW
1-For hundreds of years God's dealing with mankind focused on the small nation of Israel and it's Jewish people.  Why had God excluded everyone else?
2-If Jesus was equally God, why did Peter say to Cornelius, "God was with him".  Why didn't he say "Jesus was God" or "Jesus had come from God"?
3-Where did the money come from for Paul and other apostles to pay for their missionary trips?
4-Is it ever God's will for his people to be poor and destitute?
5-Whenever the word "sanctify" is used in scripture does it always mean "to cleanse" and or "to set apart"?

BIBLE TRIVIA-What was the Standing Fishes Bible?
Answer   An 1806 printing in which Ezekiel 47:10 reads, "and it shall come to pass that the fishes shall stand upon it."It should read "fishers."

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY     Mark 14:3-9
Jesus was in Bethany at the house of Simon, who had a skin disease. While Jesus was eating there, a woman approached him with an alabaster jar filled with very expensive perfume, made of pure nard. She opened the jar and poured the perfume on Jesus’ head.
Some who were there became upset and said to each other, “Why waste that perfume? It was worth a full year’s work. It could have been sold and the money given to the poor.” And they got very angry with the woman.
Jesus said, “Leave her alone. Why are you troubling her? She did an excellent thing for me. You will always have the poor with you, and you can help them anytime you want. But you will not always have me. This woman did the only thing she could do for me; she poured perfume on my body to prepare me for burial. I tell you the truth, wherever the Good News is preached in all the world, what this woman has done will be told, and people will remember her.”
PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying man Father, there is a place of quiet rest and spiritual uplifting when we draw near to You. So many activities, attractions, and affections rival for our attention. But when we prioritize by giving You first place we give opportunity for You to “show your love to a thousand generations of those who love you and keep Your commandments.” We continually offer to You a sacrifice of praise through our lips that confess Your name and through our lives that reveal Your transforming power at work within us; as we do justly, love mercy and walk humbly with You, our God.  We bless and praise You in Jesus’ name.  Amen

-TODAY WILL NEVER COME AGAIN. BE A BLESSING. BE A FRIEND. ENCOURAGE SOMEONE. TAKE TIME TO CARE. LET YOUR WORDS AND ACTIONS HEAL AND NOT WOUND!
