Tuesday April 7, 2015 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-Selfishness left unchecked can lead to great evils-
2-It is so easy to know what is right and yet not do it-
3-Effective leadership can be nullified by an ineffective personal life-
4-Sins consequences are guaranteed in God's word, but the timing of those consequences are hard to predict-
5-Great opportunities are often destroyed by small decisions-

STRANGE THOUGHT-There, their, they're not the same-

I'VE LEARNED-Happiness is not the absence of problems, it is the ability to deal with them-

DID YOU KNOW-A klazomaniac is someone who feels like shouting-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Paul seems to say we can be baptized for the dead.  Can we?
2-The Bible says that we are to "perfect holiness".  How is that done?
3-Why was circumcision such a big deal in the Jewish faith?
4-What does the Bible means when it says "God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy and hardens those who he wants to harden"-
5-Can/does God have mercy on everyone?

BIBLE TRIVIA-What was the Rosin Bible?
Answer for today    The Catholic Douay Bible, which has for Jeremiah 8:22, "is there no rosin in Gilead?"

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY    Mark 14:12-16
12 It was now the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread when the Passover lamb was sacrificed. Jesus’ followers said to him, “Where do you want us to go and prepare for you to eat the Passover meal?”
13 Jesus sent two of his followers and said to them, “Go into the city and a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him. 14 When he goes into a house, tell the owner of the house, ‘The Teacher says: “Where is my guest room in which I can eat the Passover meal with my followers?”’ 15 The owner will show you a large room upstairs that is furnished and ready. Prepare the food for us there.”
16 So the followers left and went into the city. Everything happened as Jesus had said, so they prepared the Passover meal.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying man Father, Your Word teaches us that the way to heaven  isn’t secured by what we say with our lips or the label we go by. Instead the way to heaven is found through surrendering our lives to Jesus Christ who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. As we surrender to Your will we will obey Your commands and live a life above reproach, conforming our will and desire to Yours. Spiritual showmanship will not assure us entry into heaven, for Jesus taught that some who cast out demons, perform miracles, and prophesy in His name did not gain entry into heaven since they were living double lives. Outwardly they performed great works in Your name, but inwardly they were sinful and disobedient. Hypocrites are usually exposed in time, but many will not be exposed until the final harvest. Help us to live humble lives, not seeking to impress others by our good works, but rather seeking to live earnest lives of obedience to Your commands with ever-increasing love for Your people and for the lost. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING!
