Sunday April 12, 2015 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-By listening to others in order to understand them, we are doing God's work with a form of God's love-
2-"The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice"-
3-Genesis covered  lots of years between chapters-
4-Lying compounds the effects of sin-
5-Fear is the most common motive for lying-

STRANGE THOUGHT-When I was young I was scared of the dark.  Now, when I see my electric bill I am scared of the lights-

I'VE LEARNED-Light doesn't make a sound-

DID YOU KNOW-Killing a king is regicide-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Who in the Bible were called meek?
2-How does a sinful deed or thought by a Christian affect their relationship with God?
3-If God writes our name in the "Lamb's Book of Life," can it ever be removed?  If so how and by whom?
4-Which is most important-to love or to be loved?
5-Why did Jesus use images of seed and soil in a parable?

BIBLE TRIVIA-What was the ear to ear Bible?
Today's answer     An 1810 printing in which Matthew 13:43 reads, "Who hath ears to ear, let him hear."

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY    Mark 14:37-42
37 Then Jesus went back to his followers and found them asleep. He said to Peter, “Simon, are you sleeping? Couldn’t you stay awake with me for one hour? 38 Stay awake and pray for strength against temptation. The spirit wants to do what is right, but the body is weak.”
39 Again Jesus went away and prayed the same thing. 40 Then he went back to his followers, and again he found them asleep, because their eyes were very heavy. And they did not know what to say to him.
41 After Jesus prayed a third time, he went back to his followers and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? That’s enough. The time has come for the Son of Man to be handed over to sinful people. 42 Get up, we must go. Look, here comes the man who has turned against me.”

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying man Father, we don’t want to proclaim our own loyalty, but we give glory to You, when others testify of our loyalty, our trustworthiness, our dependability. Your Scripture teaches us to be people who are honest and dependable, who do to others as we would have them do to us. Living among such people makes day to day living so much more enjoyable, relationships more trustworthy, and dealings with those who do business a more fair and pleasant experience. You “detest lying lips but delight in people who are trustworthy”. We want to bring delight to You today and always, and we can do so by being people who are trustworthy. Through Christ Jesus we pray. Amen.

I WISH YOU LOVE IN YOUR HEART.....PEACE IN YOUR SOUL.....AND JOY IN YOUR LIFE.....ALWAYS!!!
