Sunday August 23, 2015 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-Youth does not preclude usefulness-
2-Externals are not what should count-
3-We choose what holds us in bondage-
4-With authority comes the need for accountability-
5-With popularity comes the need for humility-
STRANGE THOUGHT-I got a job at a bakery because I kneaded dough-
I'VE LEARNED-It is very easy to be different but very difficult to be better-
DID YOU KNOW--More than 26 dialects of Quichua are spoken in Ecuador-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Why was it such a bad thing for Ham to see his father naked in his tent?
2-There is no specific historical proof of Abrams' existence outside of the Bible.  Why not?
3-Why is Abrams' birthplace not known for certain?
4-Have the remains of Sodom and Gomorrah ever been located?
5-Is there any doubt that Abraham was a real person?
BIBLE TRIVIA-Who said " Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye crucified, both Lord and Christ."
Answer for the day     Peter      Acts 2:36
SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY    Luke 8:26-29
26 Jesus and his followers sailed across the lake from Galilee to the area of the Gerasene[a] people. 27 When Jesus got out on the land, a man from the town who had demons inside him came to Jesus. For a long time he had worn no clothes and had lived in the burial caves, not in a house. 28 When he saw Jesus, he cried out and fell down before him. He said with a loud voice, “What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you, don’t torture me!” 29 He said this because Jesus was commanding the evil spirit to come out of the man. Many times it had taken hold of him. Though he had been kept under guard and chained hand and foot, he had broken his chains and had been forced by the demon out into a lonely place.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY

Praying man Father, I thank you for the “Daniels” of our day. Many of us grew up with fathers and mothers who not only taught us right from wrong, but modeled it daily in their relations with family and others. So many today are growing up without Biblical models or Scriptural instruction which has brought about much confusion about what is right and wrong, true or false. The power of Your inspired Holy Word reveals absolute truth and is taught by examples of people such as Daniel. He didn’t allow fear, pride, or earthly ambitions to compromise his integrity. Even as Daniel stood the test while continually overcoming the tempter, I pray that You, Father, would help us to prove our loyalty to You when faced with daily temptations, especially the temptation to just go with the flow rather than to go with the guidance of Scripture. May our resolve to do good greatly lessen our temptation to do evil. Amen.

I WISH YOU LOVE IN YOUR HEART.....PEACE IN YOUR SOUL.....AND JOY IN YOUR LIFE.....ALWAYS!!!
