Saturday August 29, 2015 thought for the day

HERRE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-When God says he promises us something, he never forgets-
2-Just because a saying is old doesn't make it reliable-
3-All God asks of any of us is to be available-
4-God doesn't ask us to be exceptional only ready to obey-
5-God is looking for someone with ears to hear his voice, hands to do his will and a heart willing to respond-

STRANGE THOUGHT-If you change checkout lanes or traffic lanes, the one you were in will always move faster than the one you are in now-

I'VE LEARNED-Even the nicest people have their limits-

DID YOU KNOW-The KFC slogan "finger-lickin' good" came out as "Eat you fingers off" in Chinese-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-If you mention the name of God in conversation, is that taking it in vain?
2-Did Jesus ever break any of the ten commandments?
3-What is the "Sabbath  day rest" and does it not have any value to Christians today?
4-Is it possible for people of today's cultures to  "keep the Sabbath holy"?
5-Does attending church for 1-2 hours on Sunday qualify in keeping the Sabbath holy?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Who said "Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of Man standing on the right hand of God"?
Answer for today       Stephen        Acts 7:56

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY     Luke 8:45-48
45 Then Jesus said, Who touched me?”
When all the people said they had not touched him, Peter said, “Master, the people are all around you and are pushing against you.”
46 But Jesus said, “Someone did touch me, because I felt power go out from me.” 47 When the woman saw she could not hide, she came forward, shaking, and fell down before Jesus. While all the people listened, she told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed. 48 Jesus said to her, “Dear woman, you are made well because you believed. Go in peace.”

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying manFather, we lift our hands to You, our holy God, affirming that You are our refuge and You are our strength. As we pour out our hearts to You we remember that You are faithful, God, forever. In the midst of uncertainty, disappointment, and mystery help us to recall that in circumstances when we can’t trace Your hand we can trust Your heart, since everything You do is for our good and in our best interest, not just for here and now, but for all eternity. Amen.

TODAY WILL NEVER COME AGAIN. BE A BLESSING. BE A FRIEND. ENCOURAGE SOMEONE. TAKE TIME TO CARE. LET YOUR WORDS AND ACTIONS HEAL AND NOT WOUND!
