Tuesday August 18, 2015 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-In the Christian life the way up is down-
2-Humility is not a false piety-
3-We have to deal with attitudes as severely as we do with actions-
4-Jealousy is never satisfied, it only leads to greater problems-
5-Temptation is an inevitable part of our sinful nature-

STRANGE THOUGHT-There was  a cross eyed teacher who lost her job because she couldn't control her pupils-

I'VE LEARNED-Where there is sin, we can expect suffering to follow-

DID YOU KNOW-The most recent year that could be written upside down and right side up and appear the same was 1961.  The next year this will be possible will be 6009-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Genesis says that God caused Cain to always be a wanderer.  It also says he built the city of Enoch.  Did God remove his curse and pardon Cain?
2-Did Cain and Seth with their families live in the same area?
3-How many of their grandchildren did Adam and Eve ever see?
4-Did Adam and Eve live in the same area where their children lived?
5-Why were there no females listed in the descendants of Adam and Eve?  Were there none or weren't they considered important in Jewish history?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Who said "How long halt ye between two opinions?  If the Lord be God, follow him; but if Baal, then follow him?"
Answer for today     Elijah   1 kings 18:21

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY    LUKE 8:14
14 The seed that fell among the thorny weeds is like those who hear God’s teaching, but they let the worries, riches, and pleasures of this life keep them from growing and producing good fruit. (to be continued)

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying manGod of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, Your mercy endures to all generations. Your truths are timeless and Your provisions are abundant to those who call upon your name. Help us to gratefully declare Your faithfulness to our generation so that generations to follow will also call on the name of the Lord and be saved just as we see in the Scriptures. Generation by generation we proclaim the salvation that comes through faith in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING!
