Saturday August 15, 2015 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-When God wants to do an impossible task, he takes an impossible person and crushes him to make him ready-
2-It is doubtful if God can bless a a man greatly until he has allowed him to be hurt deeply--
3-Your stubborn will does not intimidate God-
4-Hurting people gain a perspective that those who have not yet been hurt lack-
5-God is never late, but he does seem to delay his involvement longer than we may prefer-

STRANGE THOUGHT-I did a theatrical performance about puns.  It was a play on words-

I'VE LEARNED-We must not let the desire for personal gain distract us from our spiritual purpose-

DID YOU KNOW-Quisling is the only word in the English language to start with "quis"-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Could God have created more or additional people before or after Adam and Eve?
2-Should the Genesis story of creation and first family be viewed as literal and complete?
3-Who was Cain's wife and where would she have come from?
4-Are there lapses of information and mysterious blind spots in the Genesis story of the first family?
5-Did Cain and family always live in the land of Nod?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Who said "Get thee from me, take heed to thyself, see my face no more; for in that day thou seest my face thou shalt die."
Answer for the day     Pharaoh   Exodus 10:28

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY      Luke 8:9-12
Jesus’ followers asked him what this story meant.
10 Jesus said, “You have been chosen to know the secrets about the kingdom of God. But I use stories to speak to other people so that:
‘They will look, but they may not see.
They will listen, but they may not understand.’ Isaiah 6:9
11 “This is what the story means: The seed is God’s message. 12 The seed that fell beside the road is like the people who hear God’s teaching, but the devil comes and takes it away from them so they cannot
believe it and be saved. (to be continued)

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying man Father, we look into the book of Daniel and see that the Babylonian society in which he was held captive, from youth through old age, was godless and hostile to those seeking to live in obedience to You. Nevertheless Daniel prayed openly and faithfully to You, never forsaking the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. He did not seek to fit into the Mindset of his society but was intentional in standing apart from the Babylonian gods as a follower of the one true God. Today we have many brothers and sisters who follow Christ; we have the Scripture that teaches us to say no to ungodliness and worldly passions; we have living examples throughout Scripture and history of those who courageously remained faithful to the end, and we have the infilling of the Holy Spirit which strengthens us daily in our Christian walk. When the Son of Man comes back to find faithfulness on the earth, may we be among that number. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

TODAY WILL NEVER COME AGAIN. BE A BLESSING. BE A FRIEND. ENCOURAGE SOMEONE. TAKE TIME TO CARE. LET YOUR WORDS AND ACTIONS HEAL AND NOT WOUND!
