Monday August 31, 2015 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-Scriptures are all about people-
2-God helps the helpless not those who help themselves-
3-If you truly want God to get the glory, you must let him do the fighting-
4-When you complain and grumble as a Christian, it usually occurs because your looking back to easier days-
5-No Christian just happens to move into a wilderness experience-

STRANGE THOUGHT-A predicament is when an attorney who specializes in medial malpractice suits finds himself in need of major surgery-

I'VE LEARNED-The probability of meeting someone you know increases dramatically when you are with someone you don't want to be seen with-

DID YOU KNOW-The stress in Hungarian words always falls on the first syllable-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-For the Christian, is killing ever justified?
2-Who decides the difference in killing and murder-
3-Were the Israelites a polygamist society?
4-Are most men of our society guilty of lust?
5-Was commandment 7 (not committing adultery) primarily directed at men or women?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Who said "Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known this day that thou are God in Israel"?

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY     Luke 8:51-56
51 When Jesus went to the house, he let only Peter, John, James, and the girl’s father and mother go inside with him. 52 All the people were crying and feeling sad because the girl was dead, but Jesus said, “Stop crying. She is not dead, only asleep.”
53 The people laughed at Jesus because they knew the girl was dead. 54 But Jesus took hold of her hand and called to her, “My child, stand up!” 55 Her spirit came back into her, and she stood up at once. Then Jesus ordered that she be given something to eat. 56 The girl’s parents were amazed, but Jesus told them not to tell anyone what had happened.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying manFather, You are King, Your throne is eternal; You are the First and the Last. You spoke through Christ Jesus, Your everlasting Son, Christ as God in human form. God, You continue to speak by Your Spirit in Your ageless Holy Word expounding Your own message, now as then. Through the rise and fall of nations one sure faith still holds us fast. You abide, Your Word is unchanging. Though all hell should endeavor to shake this firm foundation built on Your Holy Word, we will never forsake it, for the darkened veil will soon be lifted and we will see You face to face in the fullness of Your glory. Praise be to God!  Amen.

May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, and enough hope to make you happy-
