Tuesday August 25, 2015 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-The final proof of greatness comes in being able to endure bad behavior without resentment-
2-There is nothing like an attitude of gratitude to change negative living-
3-It does not matter the way you were-what matters is the way you are now-
4-Life is a lot like the game of tennis-those who don't serve well end up losing-
5-When there is a breakdown of integrity, we get swamped in lies and cover ups-

STRANGE THOUGHT-After your hands become coated with grease, your nose will begin to itch and you'll have to pee-

I'VE LEARNED-Seek respect not attention-

DID YOU KNOW-Polish is the only word in the English language that, when capitalized, is changed from a noun or a verb to a nationality-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Why haven't archeologists found any evidence of the Israelites who wandered in the wilderness for 40 years.  Certainly there should be much remains of the 1-2 million people having been there?
2-Is there any evidence outside the Bible and the Koran that Moses ever existed?
3-Why isn't Moses mentioned in any of the historical writings of the Egyptian pharaohs?
4-Who was Pharaoh when Joseph was governor?
5-Who was the pharaoh who ordered the killing of all the Hebrew boys under two?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Who said "Shall I go and call to thee a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for thee?"
Answer for today      Miriam     Exodus 2:7

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY   Luke 8:34-37
34 When the herdsmen saw what had happened, they ran away and told about this in the town and the countryside. 35 And people went to see what had happened. When they came to Jesus, they found the man sitting at Jesus’ feet, clothed and in his right mind, because the demons were gone. But the people were frightened. 36 The people who saw this happen told the others how Jesus had made the man well. 37 All the people of the Gerasene country asked Jesus to leave, because they were all very afraid. So Jesus got into the boat and went back to Galilee.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying man  Father, help us to be moved by the plight of those who are prepared to suffer and even lay down their lives for the sake of Christ. We remember them and their families in our prayers and remember them as warriors of the faith, who for the joy set before them are enduring the suffering, shame and agony of their tormentors. As they endure the humiliation they also overcome their suffering and humiliation by the blood of the Lamb. Scores of the persecuted have already received the crown of life in heaven that is rewarded to those martyred for their faith. On Coronation Day when we all gather in heaven we look forward to enjoying earnest fellowship with these tried and true saints of our faith who did not give up their faith nor meeting together with other believers to worship You.  Keep us faithful when tested by fire, we pray in Jesus’ name.  Amen.

I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING!
