Saturday August 22, 2015 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-In the winter of your struggle believe there will be a spring-
2-On the Good Friday of your darkness remember Sunday is coming-
3-A broken and contrite heart is not the end but the beginning-
4-The most demanding test of all is to survive prosperity-
5-No beast is more savage than man possessed with power-

STRANGE THOUGHT-What do you call a dinosaur with an extensive vocabulary--a thesaurus-

I'VE LEARNED-Apologies mean nothing if you keep doing what you're sorry for-

DID YOU KNOW-In Papua New Guinea, there are villages within five miles of each other that speak different languages-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Is there any physical evidence of a flood that could have covered the whole earth?
2-When the great flood receded, what happened to all the drowned carcasses?
3-All the land animals and people were drowned.  Were the creatures of the sea also killed?
4-Are there animals that exist today that were not alive before the great flood?
5-When the water came for the great flood, were there terrible storms with lightning and thunder?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Who said "He must increase, but I must decrease."
Answer for the day        John the Baptist   John 3:30

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY     Luke 8:22-25
22 One day Jesus and his followers got into a boat, and he said to them, “Let’s go across the lake.” And so they started across. 23 While they were sailing, Jesus fell asleep. A very strong wind blew up on the lake, causing the boat to fill with water, and they were in danger.
24 The followers went to Jesus and woke him, saying, “Master! Master! We will drown!”
Jesus got up and gave a command to the wind and the waves. They stopped, and it became calm. 25 Jesus said to his followers, “Where is your faith?”
The followers were afraid and amazed and said to each other, “Who is this that commands even the wind and the water, and they obey him?”
PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying manFather, our generation seeks more and more knowledge all the while exercising less and less restraint toward that which grieves Your heart. In our information age knowledge is promoted as the key to success, fulfillment, happiness and financial security and yet we see so many educated people lacking in these areas. While higher education is important, godly wisdom and biblical understanding are the foundational tools by which we accept or reject current philosophies, basic principles, human traditions, and the practices of our day. Your Word helps us to interpret knowledge that is ever changing so that we are careful to build our foundation upon You, the unchanging Solid Rock. Any other foundation will sink when the rain falls, the streams rise, and the assaulting winds blow and beat against that which we have worked so hard to build. We choose to love You and have a healthy, holy fear of going against Your prescribed will for our lives. Amen.

TODAY WILL NEVER COME AGAIN. BE A BLESSING. BE A FRIEND. ENCOURAGE SOMEONE. TAKE TIME TO CARE. LET YOUR WORDS AND ACTIONS HEAL AND NOT WOUND!
