HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-"I find in whatsoever state I am therewith to be content"-
2-Few things are commonplace in themselves, it is our reaction to them that
grows dull-
3-He who is thankful for little doesn't enjoy much-
4-Where there is no wonder there is no worship-
5-It is only the forgiving who are qualified to receive forgiveness-
STRANGE THOUGHT-The more time you spend as a caregiver, the less time you
will spend as the cared for-
I'VE LEARNED-I feared the truth until I saw the ugliness in lies-
DID YOU KNOW-A rainbow can only occur when the sun is forty degrees or less
above the horizon-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-What is worth more than your soul?
2-Is there a high price to pay for loyalty to Jesus?
3-What did Jesus mean by saying "If anyone chooses to follow me he must
deny himself and take up his cross"?
4-Does Jesus expect us to suffer and die if that is what it takes to follow
him?
5-Is everything possible to someone who believes?
BIBLE TRIVIA-Who kept Paul in prison, hoping Paul would try to bribe him
for release?
Yesterday's answer-Zacchaeus Luke 19:1-10
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY John 2:6-11
6 In that place there were six stone water jars that the Jews used in their washing ceremony.[a] Each jar held about twenty or thirty gallons.
7 Jesus said to the servants, "Fill the jars with
water."So they filled the jars to the top.
8 Then he said to them, "Now take some out and give
it to the master of the feast."
So
they took the water to the master. 9 When he tasted it, the water had become
wine. He did not know where the wine came from, but the servants who had brought
the water knew. The master of the wedding called the bridegroom10 and said to him, "People always serve the
best wine first. Later, after the guests have been drinking awhile, they serve
the cheaper wine. But you have saved the best wine till now."
11 So in Cana of Galilee Jesus did his first
miracle. There he showed his glory, and his followers believed in him.
Footnotes:
- John 2:6 washing ceremony The Jewish people washed themselves in special ways before eating, before worshiping in the Temple, and at other special times.
