Wednesday October 17, 2012 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-What matters most is not the content of our closet or garage but the content of our life-
2-"One's life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses"-
3-The most valuable gifts we can share with others are our love, time and concern-
4-In life, we must chose between competing treasures-
5-When it looks like you are finished, God can make a change-

STRANGE THOUGHT-How does a 2 pound box of  chocolate make me gain 5 pounds?

I'VE LEARNED-I feared love until it touched my heart, making the darkness fade into endless sunny days-

DID YOU KNOW-Neil Armstrong stepped on the moon with his left foot first-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Did the Pharisees hate Jesus for fear they would lose control over the people?
2-What was Jesus' greatest miracle?
3-What was Jesus' most compassionate miracle?
4-Why was Jesus so popular with the people-his compassion for the needy, his display of supernatural power or his teaching the truth?
5-Was Jesus considered a Rabbi by the common people?

BIBLE TRIVIA-What figure did Jesus use as a contrast to the humble tax collector?
Yesterday's answer-Samuel   1 Samuel 8

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY   JOHN 3:4-8
4 Nicodemus said, "But if a person is already old, how can he be born again? He cannot enter his mother's womb again. So how can a person be born a second time?"
5 But Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, unless you are born from water and the Spirit, you cannot enter God's kingdom. 6 Human life comes from human parents, but spiritual life comes from the Spirit.7 Don't be surprised when I tell you, 'You must all be born again.' 8The wind blows where it wants to and you hear the sound of it, but you don't know where the wind comes from or where it is going. It is the same with every person who is born from the Spirit."

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying manJesus, You are the Light of the world. And because You reside in our hearts we are a reflection of Your holy light. The world we live in is dark and growing even darker as Satan’s sinister and deceitful schemes are being played out.  Help us not to look the other way when darkness is spreading lest the darkness overshadow us in time.  Instead would You empower us through the light of Your Holy Spirit to shine in a wicked and decadent society. We come against the darkness by speaking against wickedness in all forms.  And, Lord, help us to be consistent not only in what we speak but the manner in which we live.  May the fruit of light be evident in all we do.  It is in Your name, Jesus, that we pray.  Amen.

LIVE SIMPLY! LOVE GENEROUSLY! CARE DEEPLY! SPEAK KINDLY! LEAVE THE REST WITH GOD!!
