Tuesday October 16, 2012 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Every saint has a past and every sinner has a future-
2-Faith sees the invisible, believes the incredible and receives the impossible-
3-The greatest victories are the victories of faith-
4-It is not so much what we can do that counts , but what we can trust God to do-
5-The one thing that never changes or becomes outdated is the need to love and be loved-

STRANGE THOUGHT-December is the month when the kids begin to discuss what to get dad for Christmas.  Some insist on a shirt, others a pair of socks and the argument always ends in a tie-

I'VE LEARNED-I feared hate until I saw it was nothing more than ignorance-

DID YOU KNOW-Buzz Aldrin was the first man to pee his pants on the moon-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Is forgiveness strictly a Christian virtue?
2-Is it possible to forgive and forget?
3-Why does the "world" hate Jesus?
4-Was Jesus anxious to return to heaven?
5-Was Jesus happy to shed his human body?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Who warned the people of Israel that having a king would mean taxation?
Yesterday's answer-Peter    Matthew 17:24-27

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY     John 3:1-3
1 There was a man named Nicodemus who was one of the Pharisees and an important Jewish leader.2 One night Nicodemus came to Jesus and said, "Teacher, we know you are a teacher sent from God, because no one can do the miracles you do unless God is with him."
3 Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot be in God's kingdom."

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying manHeavenly Father, it is because of Your great compassion and the sacrificial death of Jesus that we, through faith, qualify for citizenship in heaven. We want to live as responsible citizens here on earth and conduct ourselves properly in accordance to the law of the land. We also choose to live responsibly as citizens of the heavenly kingdom reflecting that which is in accordance to Your Holy Word. We enjoy so many wonderful privileges here and now, but we will enjoy many privileges not yet revealed on this side of heaven when You transfer us to our eternal home land. Help us not to be so tied to this temporal life that we crave the pleasures and merits of this world above the future eternal inheritance promised to faithful followers of Jesus Christ. It is in His name that we pray. Amen.

-I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING-
