Thursday October 25,2012 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-A single stroke of an axe won't bring down an oak tree, but many will-
2-Success is sweet but it's secret is sweat-
3-For success try aspiration, inspiration and perspiration-
4-The secret to success is to start from scratch and keep on scratching-
5-Talent, genius and education cannot take the place of persistence-

STRANGE THOUGHT-If you take a laptop computer for a run, you could jog your memory-

I'VE LEARNED-What you send out comes back-

DID YOU KNOW-All the stars in the Milky Way revolve around the center of the galaxy every two hundred million years-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Is repentance and asking for forgiveness the only way to salvation
2-Several women joined Jesus' inner circle of friends.  Did they ever become disciples?
3-Who was the first Gentile follower of Jesus?
4-Why wasn't all of Jesus' family accepting of who he was?
5-Why did some of Jesus' family think he was "crazy" when he healed the blind mute demon possessed man?

BIBLE TRIVIA-What ruler imposed tribute in Jesus day?
Yesterday's answer-a half shekel each     Exodus 30:12-16

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY   John 4:9-15

9 The woman said, "I am surprised that you ask me for a drink, since you are a Jewish man and I am a Samaritan woman." (Jewish people are not friends with Samaritans.[a] )
10 Jesus said, "If you only knew the free gift of God and who it is that is asking you for water, you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water."
11 The woman said, "Sir, where will you get this living water? The well is very deep, and you have nothing to get water with.12 Are you greater than Jacob, our father, who gave us this well and drank from it himself along with his sons and flocks?"
13 Jesus answered, "Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks the water I give will never be thirsty. The water I give will become a spring of water gushing up inside that person, giving eternal life."
15 The woman said to him, "Sir, give me this water so I will never be thirsty again and will not have to come back here to get more water."
Footnotes:
  1. John 4:9 Jewish people . . . Samaritans. This can also be translated "Jewish people don't use things that Samaritans have used."
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying man

Today we will suggest an old hymn as a prayer
Be still, my soul; the Lord is on thy side.
Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain;
Leave to thy God to order and provide.
In every change He faithful will remain.
Be still, my soul; thy best, thy heavenly Friend
Thro’ thorny ways leads to a joyful end.
Be still, my soul; thy God doth undertake
To guide the future as He has the past.
Thy hope, thy confidence let nothing shake;
All now mysterious shall be bright at last.
Be still, my soul; the waves and winds still know
His voice who ruled them while He dwelt below.
Be still, my soul; the hour is hastening on
When we shall be forever with the Lord,
When disappointment, grief and fear are gone,
Sorrow forgot, love’s purest joys restored.
Be still, my soul; when change and tears are past,
All safe and blessed we shall meet at last.

MAY YOU ALWAYS HAVE LOVE TO SHARE, HEALTH TO SPARE AND FRIENDS THAT CARE!
