Saturday October 6, 2012 thought for the day

2-A good memory is fine but the ability to forget is the true test of greatness-
3-Forgiveness is part of the nature and essence of God-
4-The ability to forgive is one of the greatest abilities given to mankind-
5-Once you have received Jesus, how much the Holy Spirit rules in your life is up to you and is reflected in the choices you make-

STRANGE THOUGHT-The more you provide, the less you will be in need-

I'VE LEARNED-I feared life until I experienced it's beauty-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Do Christians today have the power to drive out demons and/or evil spirits?
2-Did the disciples always get along harmoniously?
3-What does a person have to do to be great-
4-Jesus said that unless we become as little children we cannot enter the kingdom of heaven.  How is this done?
5-Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven-

BIBLE TRIVIA-Who advised that the Egyptians be taxed 20 percent of their produce in order to prepare for famine?

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY  John 2:12-17
12 After this, Jesus went to the town of Capernaum with his mother, brothers, and followers. They stayed there for just a few days.13 When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover Feast, Jesus went to Jerusalem.14 In the Temple he found people selling cattle, sheep, and doves. He saw others sitting at tables, exchanging different kinds of money.15 Jesus made a whip out of cords and forced all of them, both the sheep and cattle, to leave the Temple. He turned over the tables and scattered the money of those who were exchanging it. 16Then he said to those who were selling pigeons, "Take these things out of here! Don't make my Father's house a place for buying and selling!"
17 When this happened, the followers remembered what was written in the Scriptures: "My strong love for your Temple completely controls me."[a]

  1. John 2:17 "My . . . Me." Quotation from Psalm 69:9.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying manFather, we contend earnestly for the faith once for all entrusted to the saints! The opinions of people are vast and man-centered, but we choose to follow the Scriptures that teach us, Jesus is the only way to the Father, whereby we receive salvation and life forevermore. We seek to avoid evil and walk straight ahead, not going one step off the right path. By Your grace we will be found faithful. Amen.

TODAY WILL NEVER COME AGAIN. BE A BLESSING. BE A FRIEND. ENCOURAGE SOMEONE. TAKE TIME TO CARE. LET YOUR WORDS AND ACTIONS HEAL AND NOT WOUND.
