Monday October 1, 2012 thought for today

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-You can't say you believe in God's mercy and forgiveness yet worry about the stains on the pages of your past-
2-You must know how to swim if you want to save others from drowning-
3-Garlic is good for the immune system but a happy heart is the best medicine of all-
4-Most of the pain in our lives does not come from bacterial infection, but from the heart of emptiness, rejection and conflict-
5-If you want to give someone a special gift, try giving them your time and attention-

STRANGE THOUGHT-If you leave something in your closet for awhile it shrinks 2 sizes-

I'VE LEARNED-Never forget what is worth remembering and always leave behind what is best forgotten-

DID YOU KNOW-An inch of snow falling evenly on an acre of land is equivalent to about 2,715 gallons of water-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Did Jesus ever have marathon healing lasting days?
2-Did Jesus ever do a scheduled healing or were they all spontaneous?
3-Is there any indication of the total number of healings Jesus did during his lifetime?
4-Were any of the healings done by Jesus difficult for him to do?
5-Did the healings that Jesus did drain him of his divineness?

BIBLE TRIVIA-According to tradition, what follower of Jesus had been a prostitute, though the Bible does not refer to her as one?
Yesterday's answer-Amos   7:17

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY  John 1:40-42
40 One of the two men who followed Jesus after they heard John speak about him was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother.41 The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and say to him, "We have found the Messiah." ("Messiah" means "Christ.")
42 Then Andrew took Simon to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, "You are Simon son of John. You will be called Cephas." ("Cephas" means "Peter."[a] )
Footnotes:
  1. John 1:42 Peter The Greek name "Peter," like the Aramaic name "Cephas," means "rock."
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying manFather, I ask you to help me to be serious about dealing with everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles me. Help me not to play around with these matters that  hold me captive and bring destruction. Put to death any desire or behavior which resurrects my earthly nature. I want to be separated from that which is evil and wholly consecrated to You. It is in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

GREATLY BLESSED, HIGHLY FAVORED, IMPERFECT BUT FORGIVEN CHILD OF GOD-
