Saturday October 27, 2012 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Life is a voyage in which we choose neither vessel or weather, but much can be done in the management of the sails and the guidance of the helm-
2-There just isn't anything good about being negative-
3-Negative thinking is just old fashioned pessimism-
4-Negative thinking is the antithesis of faith-
5-Victory and happiness don't come when everything in your life is peachy-

STRANGE THOUGHT-A bicycle can't stand alone, it is too tired-

I'VE LEARNED-What you give you get-

DID YOU KNOW-Three stars make up Orion's belt-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Was Jesus ever antagonistic toward his accusers?
2-If you are not for Jesus, are you against him?
3-How do you speak against the Holy Spirit?
4-Why is speaking against the Holy Spirit unforgivable and not so the son and father?
5-Can you  always tell a Christian "by their fruits"?

BIBLE TRIVIA-What king is remembered for placing a "heavy yoke" of taxation on Israel?
Yesterday's answer-Jehoiakem    2 Kings 23:33-35

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY    John 4:19-24
19 The woman said, "Sir, I can see that you are a prophet.20 Our ancestors worshiped on this mountain, but you say that Jerusalem is the place where people must worship."
21 Jesus said, "Believe me, woman. The time is coming when neither in Jerusalem nor on this mountain will you actually worship the Father. 22 You Samaritans worship something you don't understand. We understand what we worship, because salvation comes from the Jews.23 The time is coming when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, and that time is here already. You see, the Father too is actively seeking such people to worship him. 24 God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth."

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying manFather, one of the greatest mysteries in the human experience is how You blend two individuals and make them become as one when they join as husband and wife.  The “me” becomes “us” in our shared interests and goals in life.  Things are no longer “mine” but “ours.”  Our times of celebration as well as times of sadness and loss become shared experiences. We honor marriage, recognizing the sacrifices and blessings that come to those who are joined in holy matrimony.  We also recognize that our archenemy, Satan, is intent on destroying the very foundation of marriage that You established from the beginning.  We uphold the institution of marriage as defined in Scripture and honor it when we speak of it and the way we live it out with our spouse.

TODAY WILL NEVER COME AGAIN. BE A BLESSING. BE A FRIEND. ENCOURAGE SOMEONE. TAKE TIME TO CARE. LET YOUR WORDS AND ACTIONS HEAL AND NOT WOUND.
