Saturday August 30, 2014 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-You will worship something, so choose wisely for it will determine your future-
2-Who will be god of our life is a choice we have to make everyday-
3-God created humanity for kinship (relationship with him)-
4-"He who sins is a slave of sin"-
5-They who sin give up their freedom in Jesus-

STRANGE THOUGHT-A friend showed me how electricity worked.  I was shocked-

I'VE LEARNED-When you try to prove to someone that a machine won't work, it will-

DID YOU KNOW-Abraham Lincoln's mother died when the family dairy cow ate poisonous
mushrooms and Mrs. Lincoln drank the milk-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Does the phrase "Isaac loved Esau" mean that Isaac never demonstrated genuine fatherly love for Jacob?
2-Esau and Jacob were complete opposites.  Does that mean one was better than the other?
3-Was Jacob jealous of his brother Esau and did he feel inferior to him?
4-Who was most guilty, Jacob for asking Esau for his birthright or Esau for selling it for a meal?
5-What had Esau given up by selling his birthright?

BIBLE TRIVIA  What seer of weird visions beheld a throne like a sapphire?
Answer for today  Ezekiel  1:26

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY   Psalm 19:1-6
19 The heavens declare the glory of God,
    And the skies announce what his hands have made.
Day after day they tell the story;
    Night after night they tell it again.
They have no speech or words;
    They have no voice to be heard.
But their message goes out through all the world;
    Their words go everywhere on earth.
The sky is like a home for the sun.
The sun comes out like a bridegroom from his bedroom.
    It rejoices like an athlete eager to run a race.
The sun rises at one end of the sky
    And follows its path to the other end.
    Nothing hides from its heat.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Thankful man Father, we are encouraged and emboldened when we consider that in everything we experience today You go before us preparing the way.  As we fix our gaze on the eternal peace that awaits the faithful believer we can deal with the temporal conflict here and now. We wait upon You in prayer and faith so that we are renewed in our strength emotionally, physically and spiritually.  We are thankful that You give strength to the weary and increase the power of the weak.  And thank You most especially for Your spiritual renewal that not only meets our needs now but for all eternity.  Amen.

TODAY WILL NEVER COME AGAIN. BE A BLESSING. BE A FRIEND. ENCOURAGE SOMEONE. TAKE TIME TO CARE. LET YOUR WORDS AND ACTIONS HEAL AND NOT WOUND!
