Wednesday August 27, 2014 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-The doors God opens are ones he expects us to walk through-
2-God wants to change your ashes to gladness-
3-God blesses those who obey him-
4-Joy is a state of mind and a state of being-it reflects a conscious choice to believe the promises of the Bible-
5-Every choice we make today affects the choices we face tomorrow-

STRANGE THOUGHT-Baseball, what a great job!  Where else would a .250 efficiency rate get you a $1 million raise?

I'VE LEARNED-When your body is fully immersed in water, the telephone rings-

DID YOU KNOW-Andrew Johnson was the only self educated tailor.  He is the only president to make his own
clothes and those of his cabinet-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-How old was Isaac at the time of Abraham's testing by God?
2-Had Abraham ever witnessed anyone returning from the dead prior to his test of faith by God?
3-Did Abraham expect Isaac not having to be sacrificed or that he would be miraculously returned to life?
4-Did Isaac willingly climb onto the altar or did Abraham have to forcibly put him on it?
5-When God stopped Abraham from sacrificing his son, he said "Now I know you fear the Lord".  Didn't he already know?

BIBLE TRIVIA-What did Isaiah see filling the temple when he beheld God sitting on his throne?
Answer for today   The train of God's robe   Isaiah 6:1

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY   1 John 2:5-6
But if someone obeys God’s teaching, then in that person God’s love has truly reached its goal. This is how we can be sure we are living in God: Whoever says that he lives in God must live as Jesus lived.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Thankful manFather, as ambassadors of Your heavenly Kingdom, we want to be keenly sensitive to those whose difficulties seem overwhelming. Some of our brothers and sisters are weighed down with troubling circumstances that might overtake them if not for those of us who take them by the arm and pull them up out of the quicksand of discouragement that ultimately leads to despair.  Help me to do my part to strengthen my brother or sister in their faith journey. Reveal to me the way that I can show genuine concern for the unbeliever, through my caring words and in my loving deeds, who needs to see the love of Christ represented in human form. In the blessed name of Jesus, I pray.  Amen.

LIVE SIMPLY! LOVE GENEROUSLY! CARE DEEPLY! SPEAK KINDLY! LEAVE THE REST WITH GOD!!
