Friday December 12, 2014 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-A true friend is greater than any material possession-
2-Without friends no one would chose to live, though they had all other worldly goods-
3-Someone who has much money but no friends is a poor man indeed-
4-There is nothing wrong with working hard and having a good income.  But if that is all there is to life, it is very empty indeed-
5-Truly selfish people are those who don't like themselves-

STRANGE THOUGHT-Greeting card-when you care enough to send the very best but not enough to actually write something-

I'VE LEARNED-Appetites are never fully and finally satisfied-

DID YOU KNOW-Kermit the frog has eleven points on the collar around his neck and is left handed-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Was Mary Magdalene frightened or beyond joy to see Jesus after his death?
2-Why didn't Mary Magdalene recognize Jesus when he first appeared to her?
3-The Bible says Jesus told Mary Magdalene to "go tell my brothers....".  Was he talking about his siblings or his disciples?
4-Why did Jesus tell Mary Magdalene not to hold on to him while the disciples touched him, clasped his feet, worshipped him, etc?
5-Whatever happened to those guarding the tomb of Jesus?

BIBLE TRIVIA-What was the affliction of the man Jesus healed by sending him to the pool of Siloam?
Answer for today     blindness    John 9:1-7

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY   Mark 3:31-35
31 Then Jesus’ mother and brothers arrived. Standing outside, they sent someone in to tell him to come out. 32 Many people were sitting around Jesus, and they said to him, “Your mother and brothers[a] are waiting for you outside.”
33 Jesus asked, “Who are my mother and my brothers?” 34 Then he looked at those sitting around him and said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! 35 My true brother and sister and mother are those who do what God wants.”

Footnotes:

  1. 3:32 brothers Some Greek copies continue, “and sisters.”

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying man Father, we cannot remain neutral but must stand for that which is good or we will fall for that which is evil.  Help us, as believers, to cling to that which is good even when it comes at great sacrifice. With the aid of Your Holy Spirit, we will be keenly discerning of the spirits of this age. Philosophies of this world must never trump principles from the Word. We look to You alone, for “There is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.” In the name of Jesus we pray.  Amen.

SMILE, LAUGH, FORGIVE, BELIEVE AND LOVE, OVER AND OVER AGAIN!
