Thursday December 11, 2014 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-Jesus never demands we worship him-
2-Jesus never looks down on anyone-
3-Humility is open to guidance-
4-Seek to be meek-
5-Choose an attitude of gratitude-

STRANGE THOUGHT-Experience is that marvelous thing that enables you to recognize a mistake then you make it again-

I'VE LEARNED-Now is the time to be generous-

DID YOU KNOW-Kermit the Frog was named after Kermit Scott, a childhood friend of Jim Henson, who became a professor of philosophy at Purdue University-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-The angel at the tomb of Jesus told the women who came there "Go, tell the disciples and Peter".  Why was Peter mentioned separately?
2-How many angels were there attending Jesus' tomb?
3-So often in scripture John is referred to as "the one whom Jesus loved" and not by his name.  Why?
4-Was Jesus showing favoritism to John over the rest of the disciples?
5-Why was Mary Magdalene the first person Jesus appeared to after his resurrection?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Where was Jesus when he healed the son of an official from Capernaum?
Answer for today      Cana   John 4:46-54

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY   Mark 3:22-30
22 But the teachers of the law from Jerusalem were saying, “Beelzebub is living inside him! He uses power from the ruler of demons to force demons out of people.”
23 So Jesus called the people together and taught them with stories. He said, “Satan will not force himself out of people. 24 A kingdom that is divided cannot continue, 25 and a family that is divided cannot continue. 26 And if Satan is against himself and fights against his own people, he cannot continue; that is the end of Satan. 27 No one can enter a strong person’s house and steal his things unless he first ties up the strong person. Then he can steal things from the house. 28 I tell you the truth, all sins that people do and all the things people say against God can be forgiven. 29 But anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of a sin that continues forever.”
30 Jesus said this because the teachers of the law said that he had an evil spirit inside him.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying man Jesus, the theme of the great banquet parable calls to mind another parable where You challenge the conventional way of thinking while forthrightly telling Your listeners, “The first shall be last and the last shall be first.” We see a lot of people who’ve been invited to the banquet table to eat of the Bread of Life. Some have tasted and seen that the Lord is good while others continue to crave the pleasures of this world instead. You are the Bread of Heaven that nurtures our spiritual hunger and the Living Water that quenches our eternal thirst! Our lives will never be the same as they were before we drew from Your well of salvation. Since Your well is bottomless with Your supply unending we invite all who seek eternal life, for there is still room because You are not willing that any should perish but that all would come to repentance.  We especially pray for wayward loved ones today, particularly those who have abandoned their family roots. Father, lead them back to their home where there is always a place at the table and in the hearts of those who remain. We’re so thankful You’re in the restoration business where hearts are mended and families reunited for Your glory. We thank You in advance for answered prayer. Amen.

MAY YOU ALWAYS HAVE LOVE TO SHARE, HEALTH TO SPARE AND FRIENDS THAT CARE!
