Sunday December 14, 2014 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-You can have it all if you are willing to give it away-
2-When the Holy Spirit is in control of our life it is awesome... When he is not it can be dreadful-
3-The authentic Christian life is impossible and unexplainable without the Holy Spirit-
4-The word accident and coincident should not be in the Christian vocabulary-
5-When you are filled with the Holy Spirit you heart is teachable-

STRANGE THOUGHT-Life is what happens when you are not watching TV-

I'VE LEARNED-The more you hold on to what you possess, the less peace you have-

DID YOU KNOW-Sitcom characters rarely say good bye when they hang up the phone-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Jesus told his disciples "Whoever believes in me and is baptized will be saved...". Does this mean baptism is necessary for salvation?
2-Before Jesus ascended to heaven he gave the apostles five signs of what they would do in his name.  Why aren't we doing them today?
3-Jesus told the apostles they would "receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you".   What was this power and how were they to use it?
4-Why was Jesus' mother not with those that saw him ascend to heaven?
5-The apostles "cast lots" to see who would be Judas' replacement.  When you don't know what is the right decision to make is this a proper thing to do?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Where was Jesus when he miraculously escaped from a crowd that was going to push him off a cliff?
Answer for today    His hometown of Nazareth    Luke 4:29-30

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY   Mark 4:10-12
10 Later, when Jesus was alone, the twelve apostles and others around him asked him about the stories.
11 Jesus said, “You can know the secret about the kingdom of God. But to other people I tell everything by using stories 12 so that:
‘They will look and look, but they will not learn.
They will listen and listen, but they will not understand.
If they did learn and understand,
They would come back to me and be forgiven.’” Isaiah 6:9–10

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying manFather, You are immortal, invisible, God only wise. All of creation is subject to Your authority so we, along with millions of other committed believers, choose to bow our knee and lift our hands toward You, our blessed and only Ruler, the king of kings and Lord of lords, who alone is immortal. You live in unapproachable light, but we can and do worship You in Spirit and in truth. We worship and honor You in this life and will do through the eons of time.

I WISH YOU LOVE IN YOUR HEART.....PEACE IN YOUR SOUL.....AND JOY IN YOUR LIFE.....ALWAYS!!!
