Friday December 5, 2014 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-God's grace is bigger than your biggest sin-
2-The size of our prayer depends on the size of who we pray to-
3-The power of prayer doesn't always change your circumstances but it gives you the strength to walk through them-
4-Success is a derivative of persistence-
5-Even when it seems like God is four days late, it is too soon to give up-

STRANGE THOUGHT-Advice-what we ask for when we already know the answer but wish we didn't-

I'VE LEARNED-No amount of guilt can change the past and no amounts of worry can change the future-

DID YOU KNOW-Elvis was once appointed Special Agent of the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Whatever happened to the seamless robe of Jesus?
2-Did the thief crucified along with Jesus who asked Jesus to remember him have previous contact or knowledge of Jesus and his teachings?
3-When Jesus was crucified there was a three hour period when darkness covered the land.  What happened?
4-Why don't we know more about the miraculous events that happened at Jesus death?
5-At Jesus death a great earthquake caused the tombs to break open and the dead bodies raised to life.  Who were they and how many were there?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Who appeared with Jesus at his miraculous Transfiguration?
Answer for today    Elijah and Moses   Matthew 17:1-9

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY   Mark 2:18-22
18 Now the followers of John[a] and the Pharisees often fasted[b] for a certain time. Some people came to Jesus and said, “Why do John’s followers and the followers of the Pharisees often fast, but your followers don’t?”
19 Jesus answered, “The friends of the bridegroom do not fast while the bridegroom is still with them. As long as the bridegroom is with them, they cannot fast. 20 But the time will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them, and then they will fast.
21 “No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth over a hole in an old coat. Otherwise, the patch will shrink and pull away—the new patch will pull away from the old coat. Then the hole will be worse. 22 Also, no one ever pours new wine into old leather bags. Otherwise, the new wine will break the bags, and the wine will be ruined along with the bags. But new wine should be put into new leather bags.”

Footnotes:

  1. 2:18 John John the Baptist, who preached to the Jewish people about Christ’s coming (Mark 1:4–8).
  2. 2:18 fasted The people would give up eating for a special time of prayer and worship to God. It was also done to show sadness and disappointment.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying man Father, as heirs of Your salvation, we have been purchased with the sacrificial blood of Your precious Son, Jesus. He gave His all that we might be saved from the eternal consequences of sin and have our names written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. We have the blessed assurance that we are redeemed from sin and saved for eternity in heaven. Thank You for such wondrous love and abundant provision on our behalf. Amen.

SMILE, LAUGH, FORGIVE, BELIEVE AND LOVE, OVER AND OVER AGAIN!
