HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY

1-Show me your vision and I'll show you your future-

2-The power of a single prayer can change the course of history-

3-The New Testament wasn't completed until nearly the end of the first century so the first century church relied largely on the oral teachings of the apostles-

4-No one living the Christian life by the power of the Holy Spirit walks in the way of the world-

5-The life that Jesus lived qualified him for the life he died, the death that he died qualified us for the life he lived-

STRANGE THOUGHT-Savings-a very fine thing, especially when your parents have done it for you-

I'VE LEARNED-Hurt people hurt people, ignored people ignore people, loved people love people-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW

1-How many men in Israel's history came proclaiming they were the promised Messiah?

2-What is an "uncircumcised heart and ears"?

3-Was there ever a prophet that the Hebrews did not persecute?

4-How good do we have to be to be a child of God?

5-Was Jesus the son of Mary who became the son of God, or was Jesus the son of God who became Mary's son?

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY      Mark  5:11-17

¹¹ A large herd of pigs was feeding on a hill near there. ¹² The demons begged Jesus, “Send us into the pigs; let us go into them.” ¹³ So Jesus allowed them to do this. The evil spirits left the man and went into the pigs. Then the herd of pigs—about two thousand of them—rushed down the hill into the lake and were drowned.

¹⁴ The herdsmen ran away and went to the town and to the countryside, telling everyone about this. So people went out to see what had happened. ¹⁵ They came to Jesus and saw the man who used to have the many evil spirits, sitting, clothed, and in his right mind. And they were frightened. ¹⁶ The people who saw this told the others what had happened to the man who had the demons living in him, and they told about the pigs. ¹⁷ Then the people began to beg Jesus to leave their area.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY

  Father, we desire to clothe ourselves in Christ Jesus, whose Spirit resides within our hearts. We pray that our behavior would honor You as we seek to behave decently and live according to the pattern of Holy Scripture, for “we were taught, regarding our former way of life, to put off our old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of our minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like You in true righteousness and holiness.” May lust of the flesh be burned up by the fire of the Spirit that ignites us as we redirect our affections, energies, and time to that which is righteous and eternal. Make us like You, Father, as we follow after You in righteousness and holiness.  In the name of Jesus we pray.  Amen.
