Saturday January 3, 2014 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-"It is better to be poor and honest than to be foolish and tell lies"-
2-God does not bless dishonesty-
3-You always lose when you give up your integrity-
4-Profit that is made dishonestly eventually brings trouble with it-
5-It is health that is real wealth and not pieces of gold or silver-

STRANGE THOUGHT-All I ask for is a chance to prove money can't make me happy-

I'VE LEARNED-The biggest men and women with the biggest ideas can be shut down by the smallest men and women with the smallest minds--think big anyway-

DID YOU KNOW-There are 311,875,200 five card hands possible in a fifty two card deck of cards-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-As recorded in the Bible, how many people came back to life after having once died?
2-Did God create us because he needed us?
3-Is there anyone born whom God does not want saved?
4-Is there anyone who cannot be saved?
5-Why does the Bible read with so many different interpretations?

BIBLE TRIVIA-What Roman of Capernaum asked Jesus to heal his servant?
Answer for today     The centurion    Matthew 8:5-13

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY  Mark 6:35-44
35 When it was late in the day, his followers came to him and said, “No one lives in this place, and it is already very late. 36 Send the people away so they can go to the countryside and towns around here to buy themselves something to eat.”
37 But Jesus answered, “You give them something to eat.”
They said to him, “We would all have to work a month to earn enough money to buy that much bread!”
38 Jesus asked them, “How many loaves of bread do you have? Go and see.”
When they found out, they said, “Five loaves and two fish.”
39 Then Jesus told his followers to have the people sit in groups on the green grass. 40 So they sat in groups of fifty or a hundred. 41 Jesus took the five loaves and two fish and, looking up to heaven, he thanked God for the food. He divided the bread and gave it to his followers for them to give to the people. Then he divided the two fish among them all. 42 All the people ate and were satisfied. 43 The followers filled twelve baskets with the leftover pieces of bread and fish. 44 There were five thousand men who ate.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying manFather, we thank You for Jesus who came to this earth as a tiny baby with a mission to die on the Cross as a sacrifice for our sins to reconcile us to You. Not only are we forgiven and reconciled to You, but we also are made joint heirs taking on our new identity as “children of God.” What an incredible honor and selfless act of love that You would place us in Your Kingdom whose reign is for all eternity. This is the wonder of Your great love for all and the other wonder is that it is imparted to me personally. I can express agape’ love to others because Jesus modeled it, taught it through Scripture, and the Holy Spirit graciously provides it through us as we lay down our own preference in deference to Your perfect will! May we live the Christmas story everyday as we serve others above ourselves through Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.

TODAY WILL NEVER COME AGAIN. BE A BLESSING. BE A FRIEND. ENCOURAGE SOMEONE. TAKE TIME TO CARE. LET YOUR WORDS AND ACTIONS HEAL AND NOT WOUND!
