Sunday January 4, 2015 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-Old is good in some things-old songs, old movies and old friends-
2-Courage is not about the absence of fear but about obedience even when we are afraid-
3-Courage is trusting God when we don't know what is next-
4-Trust forces you to live by faith-
5-Courage is having faith even thought we feel uncertain-

STRANGE THOUGHT-If the world were a logical place, men would be the ones who ride side saddle-

I'VE LEARNED-Most people favor underdogs but follow only top dogs-fight for underdogs anyway-

DID YOU KNOW-The wheel on the game show Wheel of Fortune is 102 inches in diameter-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Was the bible written to be cloudy or clearly understood?
2-Paul talked about the "Angel that destroys".  What is that?
3-Is love always the greatest thing?
4-Was Jesus considered a "religious" person?
5-Is religion "anti Christ"?

BIBLE TRIVIA-When Jesus was healing people, what prophet did he claim to be fulfilling?
Answer for today    Isaiah      Matthew 8:17

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY    Mark 6:45-51
45 Immediately Jesus told his followers to get into the boat and go ahead of him to Bethsaida across the lake. He stayed there to send the people home. 46 After sending them away, he went into the hills to pray.
47 That night, the boat was in the middle of the lake, and Jesus was alone on the land. 48 He saw his followers struggling hard to row the boat, because the wind was blowing against them. Between three and six o’clock in the morning, Jesus came to them, walking on the water, and he wanted to walk past the boat. 49 But when they saw him walking on the water, they thought he was a ghost and cried out. 50 They all saw him and were afraid. But quickly Jesus spoke to them and said, “Have courage! It is I. Do not be afraid.” 51 Then he got into the boat with them, and the wind became calm. The followers were greatly amazed.
