Wednesday January 14, 2015 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-In Gods hands, intended evil becomes ultimate good-
2-God is the God of the famine and the feast and he uses both to accomplish his will-
3-Gratitude doesn't come naturally, grumbling does-
4-God has given you a cup full of blessings.  Sweeten it with a happy spoonful of gratitude-
5-Forgiveness doesn't diminish justice, it just entrusts it to God-

STRANGE THOUGHT-Why isn't the number 11 pronounced tenty one?

I'VE LEARNED-Leaving doesn't always mean coming back-

DID YOU KNOW-Tom Sawyer was the first novel that was written on a typewriter-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Why did an all knowing God have to test Abraham's faith?
2-Is it possible that Abraham's plan to sacrifice Isaac shocked Sarah his mother to death?  (a Jewish tradition)
3-Didn't Abraham question God about his instructions to sacrifice his son?
4-How old was Isaac when God told Abraham to sacrifice his son?
5-Where was Sodom and Gomorrah located?

BIBLE TRIVIA-What miracle in Jesus' life is mentioned most in the new testament?
Answer for today   His resurrection
SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY  Mark 7:5-8
5 The Pharisees and the teachers of the law said to Jesus, “Why don’t your followers obey the unwritten laws which have been handed down to us? Why do your followers eat their food with hands that are not clean?”

6 Jesus answered, “Isaiah was right when he spoke about you hypocrites. He wrote,

‘These people show honor to me with words,
But their hearts are far from me.
7 Their worship of me is worthless.
The things they teach are nothing but human rules.’ Isaiah 29:13

8 You have stopped following the commands of God, and you follow only human teachings.”[a]
Footnotes:

7:8 teachings Some Greek copies continue, “You wash pitchers and jugs and do many other such things.”
PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying man Father, You have chosen the foolish things of this world to shame the wise, and the weak things of this world to shame the strong. That which is despised, even discarded by the world may be among some of Your most precious treasures. It reminds us that we must realign our values according to Your value system, regarding those things which are precious in Your sight to be precious in ours as well. As we walk in humility we will value others in the same way You do and respond in accordingly. Thank You for these precious individuals You place in our life’s experience and in our families that show us the way to the heart of the Father. Amen.

LIVE SIMPLY! LOVE GENEROUSLY! CARE DEEPLY! SPEAK KINDLY! LEAVE THE REST WITH GOD!!
