Sunday February 1, 2015 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-Joy comes from the Lord, it has nothing to do with circumstances-
2-Thanksgiving is a way of life-
3-Whenever we have more than we need, our natural assumption is that it is for our own consumption-
4-Being generous does not mean taking a vow of poverty-
5-There is more to generosity than simply giving something away-

STRANGE THOUGHT- You can either throw in the towel or you can use it to wipe the sweat off of your face-

I'VE LEARNED-Nice presents and kind hearts can come in unusual packages-

DID YOU KNOW-The book of Ester in the Bible is the only book that does not mention the name of God-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Are today's Palestinians any relation to the Philistines of the Bible?
2-If David was such a great leader, why was he such a poor leader of his own home?
3-Which kingdom, Judah or Israel, was David first king of?
4-Was David from Judah or Israel?
5-There is speculation that 1st and 2nd Samuel was originally one book.  When , where, and by whom was it made into 2 books?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Who walked the Sea of Galilee?
Jesus and Peter     Matthew 14:25-31

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY
25 Between three and six o’clock in the morning, Jesus came to them, walking on the water. 26 When his followers saw him walking on the water, they were afraid. They said, “It’s a ghost!” and cried out in fear.
27 But Jesus quickly spoke to them, “Have courage! It is I. Do not be afraid.”
28 Peter said, “Lord, if it is really you, then command me to come to you on the water.”
29 Jesus said, “Come.”
And Peter left the boat and walked on the water to Jesus. 30 But when Peter saw the wind and the waves, he became afraid and began to sink. He shouted, “Lord, save me!”
31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught Peter. Jesus said, “Your faith is small. Why did you doubt?”

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Thankful man Father, we want to be still and listen to Your still small voice, whether You’re speaking directly to our spirit or speaking to us through Your holy Word. At times You speak to us through song, through nature, through other believers and through the unfolding of  major and minor events in our lives. As You speak to us, we want to be careful and listen to Your voice so that we do not harden our hearts. Instead we want You to fulfill in us all Your purposes for our growth and for Your glory. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

I WISH YOU LOVE IN YOUR HEART.....PEACE IN YOUR SOUL.....AND JOY IN YOUR LIFE.....ALWAYS!!!
