Wednesday July 8, 2015 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-There is a vast difference between knowing someone well and being a true friend-
2-The greatest evidence of genuine friendship is loyalty-
3-"Even fools are thought wise if they keep silent and discerning if they hold their tongue"-
4-It is as hard to refuse to listen to gossip as it is to turn down a delicious dessert.  Taking just one morsel of either creates a taste for more-
5-If you don't nibble on the first bite of gossip, you won't take the second and third-

STRANGE THOUGHT-Get on your knees and thank God you are still on your feet-

I'VE LEARNED-Your background doesn't matter to God-

DID YOU KNOW-The most used letter in the English language is E; Q is the least used-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Is God thought of differently by the American Christians with those in third world countries.  How about those living in areas where one of the other major world religions are dominate?
2-Did God create the universe or did he speak it into existence?
3-Why do some churches in parts of the world have to endure terrible pain, persecution and death while in other areas churches survive pain free?
4-Was the Garden of Eden that God created considered a paradise?
5-Are the judgements that John saw and wrote of in the Book of Revelations inevitable, or are they conditional so that they can be delayed or avoided by repentance and faith in Jesus?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Who said "I have found the Book of the Law in the house of the Lord"?
Answer for today       Hilkiah     2 Kings 22:8

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY    Luke 6:17-19
17 Jesus and the apostles came down from the mountain, and he stood on level ground. A large group of his followers was there, as well as many people from all around Judea, Jerusalem, and the seacoast cities of Tyre and Sidon. 18 They all came to hear Jesus teach and to be healed of their sicknesses, and he healed those who were troubled by evil spirits. 19 All the people were trying to touch Jesus, because power was coming from him and healing them all.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying man Lord, we ask You to not only open our eyes to that which is around us, but we ask You to open the eyes of our hearts so that we might envision that which is true and that which is false on a spiritual level.  May we continue to hide Your Word in our hearts that we might not sin against You. How blessed we are to know that as You reign in our hearts, our spirits bear witness to that which is Scriptural and that which is heresy. May we ever be vigilant in Scripture and fervent in prayer as we encounter the gods of this age.  In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

LIVE SIMPLY! LOVE GENEROUSLY! CARE DEEPLY! SPEAK KINDLY! LEAVE THE REST WITH GOD!!
