Wednesday February 20, 2013 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-You cannot build character and courage by taking away peoples initiative and independence-
2-You cannot help people permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves-
3-With a little perspective you can live a life of purpose-
4-The time you spend with friends is important but the time you spend with family is more important-
5-Excellence is not a skill, it is an attitude-

STRANGE THOUGHT-You don't stop laughing because you grow old, you grow old because you stop laughing-

I'VE LEARNED-Sometimes, doing the one thing you don't want to do can be the best thing you've ever done-

DID YOU KNOW-The US Bureau of Standards says that the electron is the fastest thing in the world-

5 THING I WANT TO KNOW
1-Why is it that those who most need a shepherd resists him so?
2-Should Christians make long range plans and goals?
3-What is a "spirit of humility"?
4-Since we are not promised tomorrow, should we plan for tomorrow?
5-How do you use your financial resources for God's glory?

BIBLE TRIVIA-What king issued an order allowing the Jews to rebuild the temple in Jerusalem?
Yesterday's answer-Naaman the Syrian   2 Kings 5:18

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY   John 15:1-4
15 “I am the true vine; my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch of mine that does not produce fruit. And he trims and cleans every branch that produces fruit so that it will produce even more fruit. You are already clean because of the words I have spoken to you. Remain in me, and I will remain in you. A branch cannot produce fruit alone but must remain in the vine. In the same way, you cannot produce fruit alone but must remain in me.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying man Father, we desire to communicate with our spouses, family members and other people in a way that builds up and benefits those who listen. As we establish Biblical principles in our heart, they will act as filters for that which flows from our tongue. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Amen.

LIVE SIMPLY! LOVE GENEROUSLY! CARE DEEPLY! SPEAK KINDLY! LEAVE THE REST WITH GOD!!
