Sadturday July 13, 2013 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Saying the right thing at the right time is important but more important is leaving unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting time-
2-The basis of all miracles is God's sovereignty-
3-When your heart is full of fear, don't forget that God knows you name-
4-The test of maturity is character-
5-The more knowledge we have, the more we are accountable for-

STRANGE THOUGHT-Life may not be all we had hoped for but while we are here we might as well dance-

I'VE LEARNED-The pursuit of happiness is the chase of a lifetime-

DID YOU KNOW-A rodent's teeth never stop growing.  They are worn down by the animal's constant gnawing on bark, leaves and other vegetables-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Why is it easy to put off obedience until tomorrow?
2-Can you be a Christian and not suffer for your faith?
3-Why do Mark and John have differing versions of the woman anointing Jesus with expensive perfume?
4-Who was the woman who anointed Jesus with  the expensive perfume?
5-Was Jesus body properly prepared for burial or was it put directly into a tomb waiting for someone to come later and do it?

BIBLE TRIVIA-What kinsman of Moses was a priest of Midian?
Yesterdays answer-Melchizedek    Hebrews   5:6

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY-Acts 10:17-22
17 While Peter was wondering what this vision meant, the men Cornelius sent had found Simon’s house and were standing at the gate. 18 They asked, “Is Simon Peter staying here?”
19 While Peter was still thinking about the vision, the Spirit said to him, “Listen, three men are looking for you. 20 Get up and go downstairs. Go with them without doubting, because I have sent them to you.”
21 So Peter went down to the men and said, “I am the one you are looking for. Why did you come here?”
22 They said, “A holy angel spoke to Cornelius, an army officer and a good man; he worships God. All the people respect him. The angel told Cornelius to ask you to come to his house so that he can hear what you have to say.”

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying manFather, Your Word admonishes us to “Contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to the saints.”  There are many obstacles that will lead us astray as we contend for the faith if our eyes become fixed on the obstacles.  Instead we want to fix our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, who set His eyes on the throne of God, enabling Him to endure the cross, its shame and agony.  Fix our eyes on the goal of heaven where all will finally be made perfectly clear when we see Jesus face to face.  In the meantime sustain us through Your mercy, grow our faith, and help us to take as many as possible with us to our eternal home in heaven. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

TODAY WILL NEVER COME AGAIN. BE A BLESSING. BE A FRIEND. ENCOURAGE SOMEONE. TAKE TIME TO CARE. LET YOUR WORDS AND ACTIONS HEAL AND NOT WOUND.
