Thursday July 4, 2013 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Hear the music before the song is over-
2-"Wisdom is proved to be right by what it does"-
3-If you ask God why there is so much poverty and suffering in this world, don't be surprised if he asks you the same thing-
4-People are like stained glass windows.  They sparkle and shine when the sun is out.  But in the darkness, beauty is seen only if there is a light inside-
5-One person with a genuine experience with God is worth more than a library full of argument-

STRANGE THOUGHT-The purpose of a middle name is so a child can know when they are really in trouble-

I'VE LEARNED-The happiness of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts-

DID YOU KNOW-The Kodiak bear can weigh up to five hundred pounds more than any other kind of bear-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Why did the two walkers on the road to Emmaus not recognize Jesus?
2-In the original writings, did Jesus say he would rise from the dead in 3 days or on the 3rd day?
3-Why didn't Mark and John tell the Christmas story?
4-Why is only one side of the story of Jesus birth told in each of Matthew and Luke?
5-Did John the Baptist know that Jesus was the one he prophesied would come who was greater than he?

BIBLE TRIVIA
1-What priest was told by the prophet Amos that his wife would become a prostitute?
Yesterday's answer-Caiaphas  John 11:49

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY     Acts 9:22-25
22 But Saul grew more powerful. His proofs that Jesus is the Christ were so strong that his own people in Damascus could not argue with him.
23 After many days, they made plans to kill Saul. 24 They were watching the city gates day and night, but Saul learned about their plan. 25 One night some followers of Saul helped him leave the city by lowering him in a basket through an opening in the city wall.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying manFather, we rest in what you have done for us in the past. We trust You for what You are doing presently in our lives and for what You are going to do in the future as we place our full confidence in You.  We have no confidence in the flesh because our weaknesses quickly sabotage our good intentions.  As we hold tightly to the hope we have in You we may feel the turbulent winds of adversity but they will not overcome us. You will keep us on course for You who promised are faithful. We hold tightly to Your teachings that upholds us even when we stumble, keeping us from being cast down. We thank You for Jesus who keeps a firm grip on us allowing no enemy to snatch us out of His hand. Amen.

MAY YOU ALWAYS HAVE LOVE TO SHARE, HEALTH TO SPARE AND FRIENDS THAT CARE!
