Saturday July 6, 2013 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-What appears obvious may not be-
2-If you love life, do not squander time for it is the stuff that life is made of-
3-You cannot tailor make all the situations in life, but you can tailor make the attitudes to fit those situations-
4-What you possess will belong to someone else at your death, but what you are will be yours forever-
5-Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower-

STRANGE THOUGHT-The only people in the world who are always sure about the proper way to raise children are those who never had any-

I'VE LEARNED-The one thing you can give and still keep is your word-

DID YOU KNOW-The most carnivorous of all bears is the polar bear.  Its diet consists almost entirely of seals and fish-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Jesus said he came "to call not those who are righteous but those who know they are sinners".  What did he mean?
2-Why was Matthew called to be a disciple when he was a despised Jewish tax collector?
3-Why did Jesus change Simon's name to Peter?
4-Did the twelve men who responded to Jesus call to follow him really know what they were doing by going with him?
5-Before Peter's confession, did any of the twelve know that Jesus was the Messiah?

BIBLE TRIVIA-What priest anointed Solomon as king?
Yesterday's answer-Annas    John 18:13

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY    ACTS 9:28-31
28And so Saul stayed with the followers, going everywhere in Jerusalem, preaching boldly in the name of the lord.  29He would often talk and argue with  the Jewish people who spoke Greek, but they were trying to kill him. 30When the followers learned about this, they took Saul to Caesarea and from there sent him to Tarsus.
31The church everywhere in Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had a time of peace and became stronger.  Respecting the Lord by the way they lived, and being encouraged by the Holy Spirit, the group of believers continued to grow-

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Praying manFather, it’s been said that “courage is fear that said its prayers”. And it’s true that You can change our hearts and outlook even when the circumstances have not changed. But it requires our dependency on You through persevering in prayer which results in absolute trust. We can be assured of Your eternal encouragement and good hope as it encourages our hearts and strengthens us in every good deed and word. It is through Christ Jesus our Lord that we pray in faith believing that You turn tragedy into triumph, as You work out all things together for our good. Amen.

TODAY WILL NEVER COME AGAIN. BE A BLESSING. BE A FRIEND. ENCOURAGE SOMEONE. TAKE TIME TO CARE. LET YOUR WORDS AND ACTIONS HEAL AND NOT WOUND.
