Sunday July 14, 2013 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Two things contribute to happiness-what we can do without and what we can do with-
2-Some people pursue happiness, others create it-
3-We cannot learn from one another until we stop shouting at one another-
4-If you want to play beautiful music you must play the black and white keys together-
5-You develop character when you learn to survive a defeat-
STRANGE THOUGHT-If you must curse, use your own name-
I'VE LEARNED-It is never too late to become what you might have been-
DID YOU KNOW-The mouse is the most common mammal in the US-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Why did Judas betray Jesus?  Was it his destiny to do so?
2-Why did Jesus allow Judas to kiss him in a greeting?
3-Couldn't God have had a plan of salvation that wasn't so bloody and violent?
4-Do Jews have a formal creed- a concise statement of their key beliefs?
5-At his death, why did Jesus feel God had abandoned him?
BIBLE TRIVIA-What priest was responsible for taking the first census of Israel?
Yesterday's answer-Jethro, also called Reuel    Exodus 3:1
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY    Acts  10:23-29The next day Peter got ready and went with them, and some of the followers from Joppa joined him. 24 On the following day they came to Caesarea. Cornelius was waiting for them and had called together his relatives and close friends. 25 When Peter entered, Cornelius met him, fell at his feet, and worshiped him. 26 But Peter helped him up, saying, “Stand up. I too am only a human.” 27 As he talked with Cornelius, Peter went inside where he saw many people gathered. 28 He said, “You people understand that it is against our law for Jewish people to associate with or visit anyone who is not Jewish. But God has shown me that I should not call any person ‘unholy’ or ‘unclean.’ 29 That is why I did not argue when I was asked to come here. Now, please tell me why you sent for me.”
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying man Father, we thank You that the grave is not the end for the believer, but simply the passage way into an eternal dwelling with You. The last enemy to be destroyed is death, but the lights of glory will welcome us into our eternal home where we will reunite with our dear loved ones who’ve gone before us.  For those who’ve lost loved ones in the midst of their serving our country in some capacity we pray for their peace and comfort knowing that they too paid a price for our freedoms, comfort and safety. We pray for our persecuted brethren that Your Holy Spirit would be like a soothing salve, an anesthetic in the midst of their ongoing deprivation and abuse; that it would apply equally for their grieving family members. We pray for deliverance from their captivity and for their opportunity to share the gospel with cellmates, guards and others whom they interface with. We pray this through Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.

I WISH YOU LOVE IN YOUR HEART.....PEACE IN YOUR SOUL.....AND JOY IN YOUR LIFE.....ALWAYS!!!
