Monday October 7, 2013 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-With Jesus you get your past forgiven, a purpose for living and a home in heaven-WHAT A DEAL-
2-Your most profound and intimate experiences of worship will likely be in your darkest days-
3-Problems force us to look to God and depend on him instead of ourselves-
4-You'll never know God is all you need until God is all you've got-
5-Easter is the demonstration of God that life is essentially spiritual and timeless-

STRANGE THOUGHT-Why do we put suits in a garment bag and garments in a suitcase?

I'VE LEARNED-Greatness is not found in possessions, power, position or prestige.  It is discovered in goodness, humility, service and character-

DID YOU KNOW-The flounder swims sideways-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Had Jesus ever seen God's anger before his crucifixion?
2-Is its true that satan cannot reach you without passing through the permission of God?
3-Did the atonement for sin demand 6-9 hours of violence?
4-Could a single drop of Jesus' blood have redeemed mankind?
5-Would a calmer death of Jesus have sufficed for man's redemption?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Who preached to the intellectuals of Athens?
Today's answer-Paul  Acts 17:16-34

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY    Acts 21:1-6
After we all said good-bye to them, we sailed straight to the island of Cos. The next day we reached Rhodes, and from there we went to Patara. There we found a ship going to Phoenicia, so we went aboard and sailed away. We sailed near the island of Cyprus, seeing it to the north, but we sailed on to Syria. We stopped at Tyre because the ship needed to unload its cargo there. We found some followers in Tyre and stayed with them for seven days. Through the Holy Spirit they warned Paul not to go to Jerusalem. When we finished our visit, we left and continued our trip. All the followers, even the women and children, came outside the city with us. After we all knelt on the beach and prayed, we said good-bye and got on the ship, and the followers went back home.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying man Father, I once again affirm my commitment to follow You wholeheartedly. I welcome the work of Your Holy Spirit, as He lives in me, to guide me into all truths. May the fruit of my life be evidence to onlookers that I seek to do that which pleases You. In those areas where there are strongholds help me to deny my sinful nature and walk in the power of Your Spirit who gives us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ in whose name I pray. Amen.
