Tuesday October 8, 2013 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-If we didn't need a savior, God wouldn't have sent one
2-Children may close their ears to advice but may open their eyes to example-
3-If we teach our children that God is able to meet all of our needs, we should also teach them to honor and respect him-
4-God wants to meet our needs, not our greeds-
5-"Some day" is a disease that will take your dreams to the grave with you-
STRANGE THOUGHT-How come "abbreviated" is such a long word?
I'VE LEARNED-It is very difficult to counterfeit humility-
DID YOU KNOW-The mudskipper fish can actually walk on land-
5 THINGS I WANT TO  KNOW
1-Does God ever waste pain?
2-Does death change the meaning of life?
3-After death, when is our first glimpse of Jesus?
4-How does God respond when we doubt him?
5-Why is it so easy to neglect the important things in life?
BIBLE TRIVIA-Who had a vision of a sheet filled with unclean animals?
Today's answer-Peter   Acts 10:9-16
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY  Acts 21:7-11
We continued our trip from Tyre and arrived at Ptolemais, where we greeted the believers and stayed with them for a day. The next day we left Ptolemais and went to the city of Caesarea. There we went into the home of Philip the preacher, one of the seven helpers,[a] and stayed with him. He had four unmarried daughters who had the gift of prophesying. 10 After we had been there for some time, a prophet named Agabus arrived from Judea. 11 He came to us and borrowed Paul’s belt and used it to tie his own hands and feet. He said, “The Holy Spirit says, ‘This is how evil people in Jerusalem will tie up the man who wears this belt. Then they will give him to the older leaders.’”

Footnotes:

  1. 21:8 helpers The seven men chosen for a special work described in Acts 6:1–6. Sometimes they are called “deacons.”
PRAYER FOR TODAY

Praying man Father, we make it our goal to please You, and thereby take up the command to overcome evil with good. If we don’t, we will be overcome by evil and it will lead to our undoing. We will lose ground in our Christian walk and our testimony of faith will weaken and likely dissolve. Being struck by evil does not require us to respond to the evil, but to Your continued guidance in our lives as You have a much greater purpose in using the evil we’re dealt. Just as Jesus used evil for good when He didn’t give up His mission though rejected by those He came to save. “He became obedient to death, even death on a cross” so that we might have forgiveness of sins and that You, Father, might be glorified. Help us to always look for the ways in which we can glorify You when faced with evil. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING-
