Thursday October 3, 2013 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Proverbs is a book loaded with practical advice for everyday living-
2-Don't assume that when people suffer, God is punishing them for their sins-
3-We are unable to comprehend why God lets good people or innocent children suffer-
4-May your heart always be joyful-
5-Temper is a blade we hold by the blade-

STRANGE THOUGHT-Why is the word "phonics" not spelled the way it sounds?

I'VE LEARNED-A love walk does not come easily or without personal sacrifice.  Each time we choose to love someone, it will cost us something-

DID YOU KNOW-The longest fish is the oar fish, which is shaped like an eel.  On average, it grows to more than twenty feet in length, but oar fish of forty six feet have been found-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-If the "spirit of fear" is not from God, where does it originate?
2-Is it literally true "the hairs of our head are numbered"?
3-Can we out sin God's love for us?
4-Does "Gods well of grace" have a bottom to it?
5-Can we ask for God's forgiveness only so many times?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Who raised a young man named Eutycus from the dead?
Today's answer-Paul   Acts 20:7-12

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY   Acts 20:13-16
13 We went on ahead of Paul and sailed for the city of Assos, where he wanted to join us on the ship. Paul planned it this way because he wanted to go to Assos by land. 14 When he met us there, we took him aboard and went to Mitylene. 15 We sailed from Mitylene and the next day came to a place near Kios. The following day we sailed to Samos, and the next day we reached Miletus. 16 Paul had already decided not to stop at Ephesus, because he did not want to stay too long in Asia. He was hurrying to be in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost, if that were possible.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying man Father,  as we place our faith in You and read the Scriptures, we learn that Satan is like a roaring lion seeking to devour us. Certainly he wants to conquer us, but through Your strength and our adherence to Your warnings we can be more than conquerors over our worst lifelong enemy, the devil. The full reward of resisting the enemy is not fully realized in our earthly pilgrimage, for the best awaits us on the other side, as we eat from the tree of life in Your paradise. Help us to find the joy of living here below as we store up our true lasting treasures in heaven where we will fully experience the eternal, unbounded blessings that await us as we enter Your eternal Paradise.  In the name of Jesus we pray.  Amen.

MAY YOU ALWAYS HAVE LOVE TO SHARE, HEALTH TO SPARE AND FRIENDS THAT CARE!
