Friday November 13, 2015 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-If we think God is harsh and unfair then that is how we will treat others-
2-Today's bigotry is tomorrow's hate crime-
3-Today's anger is tomorrow's abuse-
4-Today's lust is tomorrow's adultery-
5-Today's greed is tomorrow's embezzlement-

STRANGE THOUGHT-synthetic natural gas-

I'VE LEARNED-No matter how much you have, if you try to create happiness by accumulating wealth, you will never have enough-

DID YOU KNOW-The average banana weighs 126 grams-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Why didn't God chose to deal with and speak directly to his people rather than going through individuals (prophets, spokesmen, etc.)?
2-In the Lord's Prayer it says "thy rod and thy staff they comfort me".  How could these items bring comfort?
3-Why are there two versions of the Lord's Prayer, Matthew and Luke?
4-How is a Christian supposed to act to man made laws which he thinks is wrong?
5-Was Jesus ever lonely or discouraged?

BIBLE TRIVIA-This new testament passage is from what old testament book-"Out of the mouth of babes and suckling's thou hast perfected praise   Matthew 21:16
Answer for today      Psalm 8:2

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY   Luke 14:12-14
12 Then Jesus said to the man who had invited him, “When you give a lunch or a dinner, don’t invite only your friends, your family, your other relatives, and your rich neighbors. At another time they will invite you to eat with them, and you will be repaid. 13 Instead, when you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind. 14 Then you will be blessed, because they have nothing and cannot pay you back. But you will be repaid when the good people rise from the dead.”

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying manFather, we honor our parents today, whether they’re living or deceased. You gave them to us so they could love, provide, nurture and guide us into maturity and independence. Help us to return our love to them as we thoughtfully and patiently respond to their changing needs. May they be able to depend on us even as we have depended on them throughout the years. When present circumstances make this responsibility extremely difficult give us the needed wisdom and creative means to still carry out the command to honor our father and mother.  In the name of Your Son, Jesus, we pray.  Amen.

SMILE, LAUGH, FORGIVE, BELIEVE AND LOVE, OVER AND OVER AGAIN-
