Saturday November 21, 2015 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-Every Christian needs to find someone to submit to (be accountable to)-
2-The wounds of a friend are better than the praise of an enemy-
3-One reason we don't anticipate the return of Jesus is because we have it so good today-
4-God can even bless a grudging obedience-
5-Victory is not getting your own way in your life, it is getting God's way in your life-

STRANGE THOUGHT-wickedly good-

I'VE LEARNED-Those who pursue money's empty promises will one day discover that they have nothing because they are spiritually bankrupt-

DID YOU KNOW-Seeds are missing from a navel orange.  The bigger the navel, the sweeter the orange-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Can you be angry and never show it?
2-How do we know if we are meek or humble?
3-Had Jesus ever ridden a horse or donkey prior to riding a colt into Jerusalem?
4-Is meekness always weakness?
5-Is it selfish to be concerned with liking yourself?

BIBLE TRIVIA-This new testament passage is from what old testament book-"My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"        Matthew 27:46
Answer for today      Psalm 22:1

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY     Luke 15:20-24
20 So the son left and went to his father.
“While the son was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt sorry for his son. So the father ran to him and hugged and kissed him. 21 The son said, ‘Father, I have sinned against God and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’ 22 But the father said to his servants, ‘Hurry! Bring the best clothes and put them on him. Also, put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. 23 And get our fat calf and kill it so we can have a feast and celebrate. 24 My son was dead, but now he is alive again! He was lost, but now he is found!’ So they began to celebrate.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying man Jesus, the theme of the great banquet parable calls to mind another parable where You challenge the conventional way of thinking while forthrightly telling Your listeners, “The first shall be last and the last shall be first.” We see a lot of people who’ve been invited to the banquet table to eat of the Bread of Life. Some have tasted and seen that the Lord is good while others continue to crave the pleasures of this world instead. You are the Bread of Heaven that nurtures our spiritual hunger and the Living Water that quenches our eternal thirst! Our lives will never be the same as they were before we drew from Your well of salvation. Since Your well is bottomless with Your supply unending we invite all who seek eternal life, for there is still room because You are not willing that any should perish but that all would come to repentance.  We especially pray for wayward loved ones today, particularly those who have abandoned their family roots. Father, lead them back to their home where there is always a place at the table and in the hearts of those who remain. We’re so thankful You’re in the restoration business where hearts are mended and families reunited for Your glory. We thank You in advance for answered prayer. Amen.

TODAY WILL NEVER COME AGAIN. BE A BESSING, BE A FRIEND, ENCOURAGE SOMEONE, TAKE TIME TO CARE. LET YOUR WORDS AND ACTIONS HEAL AND NOT WOUND-
