Monday November 30, 2015 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-Affluence makes us dependent on ease and comfort-
2-I like the things money can buy but I love the things money can't buy-
3-Praying together out loud is the most intimate form of communication-
4-Faith overcomes doubt-
5-It is not the size of the man in the fight, it is the fight in the man that determines the outcome-

STRANGE THOUGHT-It is easy to identify people who can't count to 15.  They are in front of you at the express checkout lane-

I'VE LEARNED-Don't write something you don't want others to read-

DID YOU KNOW-Coffee is the second largest item of international commerce in the world-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-When we come to Jesus seeking forgiveness, when are we cleansed from our sins both past and present?
2-How can it be all right to look at the things that are wrong to do?
3-Why is it the role of women in the church has become such an issue today in some Christian groups?
4-Are we fooling ourselves when we equate conservative values with Godly values?
5-Originally, Christians were very different from the society they lived in.  Is that true of Christians today?

BIBLE TRIVIA-This new testament passage is from what old testament book-"Every first born male shall be given to the Lord"?    Luke 2:23
Answer for today       Exodus 13:2

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY      Luke 16:26-31
26 Besides, there is a big pit between you and us, so no one can cross over to you, and no one can leave there and come here.’ 27 The rich man said, ‘Father, then please send Lazarus to my father’s house. 28 I have five brothers, and Lazarus could warn them so that they will not come to this place of pain.’ 29 But Abraham said, ‘They have the law of Moses and the writings of the prophets; let them learn from them.’ 30 The rich man said, ‘No, father Abraham! If someone goes to them from the dead, they would believe and change their hearts and lives.’ 31 But Abraham said to him, ‘If they will not listen to Moses and the prophets, they will not listen to someone who comes back from the dead.’”

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying man Father, we thank You for the redeeming blood of Jesus that imparts mercy and pardon for my sins. Wretched as I may be, Your mercy is greater! Only a God like You chooses to delight in expressing mercy to the undeserving masses that defy Your Holy Name. Thank You for reaching me in the depth of my sin and raising me to the height of Your Holiness – it’s only through Your blood and it’s only through Your mercy that I come and You joyfully welcome me! Words cannot express my eternal gratitude for such indescribable love.

MAY YOU HAVE ENOUGH HAPPINESS TO MAKE YOU SWEET, ENOUGH TRIALS TO MAKE YOU STRONG, ENOUGH SORROW TO KEEP YOU HUMAN AND ENOUGH HOPE TO MAKE YOU HAPPY-
