Monday August 6, 2012 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Everyone is a work in progress-
2-Be patient with God's human works in progress for they may one day be his path for you to things you could not have found otherwise-
3-God is--even if the whole word deny him-
4-Truth stands even if there is no public support, for it is self sustained-
5-Every human being was created by God, but not everyone is a child of God-

STRANGE THOUGHT-If you want to make God laugh, tell him about your plans-

I'VE LEARNED-It is best to give advice in only two circumstances--when it is requested and when it is a life threatening situation-

DID YOU KNOW-It takes about 3000 cows to supply the NFL with enough leather for a year's supply of footballs-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Did the Pharisees fear that Jesus' popularity with  the people would cause them to lose influence over the people?
2-The healings that were reported to have taken place at the pool of Bethesda, were they legends or actual accounts?
3-Why did Jesus ask the man waiting at the pool of Bethesda "Do you want to be healed"?  Didn't Jesus already know?
4-Are human needs more important than religious regulations?
5-Is it okay to break the commandment about not working on the Sabbath?

BIBLE TRIVIA-who killed Abner?
Yesterday's answer-Herod  Matthew 2:16

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY    Matthew 24:32-35
32 "Learn a lesson from the fig tree: When its branches become green and soft and new leaves appear, you know summer is near. 33 In the same way, when you see all these things happening, you will know that the time is near, ready to come.34 I tell you the truth, all these things will happen while the people of this time are still living. 35Earth and sky will be destroyed, but the words I have said will never be destroyed.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father, our faith is built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus as our chief cornerstone.  It is through Him that our whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple bringing glory and honor to Your name. May Your indwelling Holy Spirit transform us into Your image day by day.  In Jesus’ name we pray.  Amen.

GREATLY BLESSED, HIGHLY FAVORED, IMPERFECT BUT FORGIVEN CHILD OF GOD-
