Thursday August 30, 2012 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-You develop a servants heart when you are willing to do anything-
2-If you can't say nice things about your friends, you should get new friends-
3-Courtesy is contagious-
4-Tell me who your heroes are and I'll tell you how you'll turn out to be-
5-Money is an excellent servant but a horrible master-

STRANGE THOUGHT-Sometimes it takes a good fall to know where you really stand-

I'VE LEARNED-I can always pray for someone when I don't have the strength to help them in some other way-

DID YOU KNOW-The city of Denver was chosen to host and then refused the 1976 Winter Olympics-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Did Jesus ever stay where he wasn't wanted?
2-Why were the people of Gadara so disturbed at seeing the formerly demon possessed man sane and in his right mind?
3-Was Jesus concerned that his destiny would get off schedule?
4-What ever happened to the demon possessed man called Legend after he was made clean of demons?
5-For how long a period of time did Jesus speak or teach in the synagogue?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Who carried a staff that was as big as a weaver's beam?
Yesterday's answer-Samson   Judges 15:15

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY     Matthew 26:57-63
57 Those people who arrested Jesus led him to the house of Caiaphas, the high priest, where the teachers of the law and the elders were gathered. 58 Peter followed far behind to the courtyard of the high priest's house, and he sat down with the guards to see what would happen to Jesus.
59 The leading priests and the whole Jewish council tried to find something false against Jesus so they could kill him.60Many people came and told lies about him, but the council could find no real reason to kill him. Then two people came and said,61 "This man said, 'I can destroy the Temple of God and build it again in three days.' "
62 Then the high priest stood up and said to Jesus, "Aren't you going to answer? Don't you have something to say about their charges against you?"63 But Jesus said nothing.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Praying manFather, we know that none of us are 100% humble, for we are clothed in these mortal, fallible bodies. But we do know that Jesus is the model of One completely humble in His humanity and divinity. He did not consider equality with You, our Father, something to be grasped but took on His personhood as a man and became obedient to death on the cross. We look to Him as the supreme example of humility and obedience. As we clothe ourselves in Your righteousness we can overcome the pride that is ever before us. We recognize that no good thing can come from us, but all that is good comes from You. Remind us daily that the attitude of gratitude is the antidote for feelings of pride. When we acknowledge that everything we have and all that we are is due to Your merciful blessings we are humbled and grateful to You, the Giver of every good and perfect gift. Amen.

MAY YOU ALWAYS HAVE LOVE TO SHARE, HEALTH TO SPARE AND FRIENDS THAT CARE!
