Tuesday january 21, 2014 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-The Christian faith is more than a matter of personal openness or unfounded optimism-
2-The Bible is the constant rain that waters our root system of faith-
3-Learn God's promises, live by them and trust them-
4-It is never a question of how much we have of the Holy Spirit but of how much he has of us-
5-We never know at what stage of life or age we are living the last chapter of our life-

STRANGE THOUGHT-If an experiment worked, something has gone wrong-

I'VE LEARNED-Only courageous people resolve conflict-

DID YOU KNOW-The longest recorded lifespan of a camel was thirty five years, five months-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Who was the last political king the Jews had?
2-Since the book of Lamentations doesn't name its writer, do we know for sure who wrote it-
3-Why is the "wailing wall" sacred to the Jews when it is not a remnant of the Jerusalem Temple
but a part of a retaining wall that holds up the hillside where the Temple once stood?
4-Why do we complain when we are punished for our sin?
5-Was Jerusalem the only middle east city that was completely destroyed to nothing?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Who told God that Job would curse him to his face?
Answer for today   satan  Job 1:11, 2:5

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY    Matthew 7:16-17
16 You will know these people by what they do. Grapes don’t come from thornbushes, and figs don’t come from thorny weeds. 17 In the same way, every good tree produces good fruit, but a bad tree produces bad fruit.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Thankful man Father, the example of Hezekiah reminds us that doing our work diligently and honestly is pleasing in Your sight. We are to seek You wholeheartedly as we carry out our responsibilities, whether it is at work or at home. In our temporal earthy dwelling we want to apply eternal kingdom principles in all we do and say rather than possessing a complaining, discontent demeanor. As we are faithful in pursuing righteousness and spreading peace and joy You prosper us in our family relations, our places of employment, our relationships, and in our financial endeavors.  We thank You for Your blessings in the name of Jesus. Amen.

I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING!
