Wednesday November 26, 2014 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-The greatest example of forgiving was by Jesus when he hung on a cross saying "Father forgive them for they know not what they do"-
2-God cannot give us peace and happiness apart from himself because there is no such thing-
3-Love is a commitment to put someone else's best interest over your own.  Anything other than that isn't love-
4-It is easier to act your way into a feeling than to feel your way into an action-
5-If you choose to act in a loving way, the feelings will come-
STRANGE THOUGHT-No one falls in love by choice for it is by chance and no one stays in love by chance for it is by work-
I'VE LEARNED-The only domestic animal not mentioned in the Bible is the cat-
DID YOU KNOW-Mozart's real name was Johannes Chrysostomus Wolfgangus Theophilus Mozart- (no wonder he shortened his name for no one could remember how to spell it)-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Is it easier for people who are poor to be followers of Jesus than those who are well to do?
2-Did God cloud the minds of the disciples about who Jesus really was and what would happen to him at the end of his earthly life-
3-Where was Jesus the most popular?
4-If James and John could not sit at Jesus' right and left in God's kingdom, who will do so?
5-How did salvation come to the house of Zacchaeus just because he told Jesus he would give half of his possessions to the poor?  Why no repentance or confession of sins?
BIBLE TRIVIA-What did Elisha do for the Syrian soldiers after leading them to Samaria?
Answer for today    prayed for the healing of their blindness    2 Kings 6:19-20
SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY   Mark 1:21-28
21 Jesus and his followers went to Capernaum. On the Sabbath day He went to the synagogue and began to teach. 22 The people were amazed at his teaching, because he taught like a person who had authority, not like their teachers of the law. 23 Just then, a man was there in the synagogue who had an evil spirit in him. He shouted, 24 “Jesus of Nazareth! What do you want with us? Did you come to destroy us? I know who you are—God’s Holy One!”
25 Jesus commanded the evil spirit, “Be quiet! Come out of the man!” 26 The evil spirit shook the man violently, gave a loud cry, and then came out of him.
27 The people were so amazed they asked each other, “What is happening here? This man is teaching something new, and with authority. He even gives commands to evil spirits, and they obey him.”
PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying man Father, we pray that we will continue to mature in our Christian walk. Scripture, repeatedly, indicates that spiritual maturity is a result of enduring trials of various kinds. In the midst of these trials Your faithful promptings and guidance through Scripture, other believers, and the circumstances we face can be ignored or silenced when self gets in the way. Today we make every effort to add to our faith those characteristics that will sustain and grow us in our Christian walk. In doing so we will be effective and productive in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, during times of ease but even more so during times of difficulty. Keep us faithful and growing, and expressing thanks in everything, according to the Scripture, “In all things give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward You.” In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.
LIVE SIMPLY! LOVE GENEROUSLY! CARE DEEPLY! SPEAK KINDLY! LEAVE THE REST WITH GOD!!
