Monday November 24, 2014 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Love isn't only a feeling, but it creates feelings-
2-Love is based on trust and trust is based on love.  If you don't tell the truth, I can't trust you.  If I can't trust you how can I love you?
3-God always gives his best to those who leave the choice with him-
4-Wanting everything to be perfect gets in the way of having time for the things you really care about-
5-While the things on your "to do" list might be necessary, it is important to make that which you love a priority-

STRANGE THOUGHT-If worry can cure your sickness, go ahead and worry-

I'VE LEARNED-The grace of God is greater than our decaying culture-

DID YOU KNOW-Beethoven's "fifth" was the first symphony to include trombones-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-What does the Bible mean when it says-"the last will be first and the first will be last"?
2-Besides Jesus and Lazarus, were there any other Biblical accounts of people being raised from a grave?
3-Why was Lazarus a friend of Jesus?
4-How many times is it recorded in scripture that Jesus died?
5-Did Jesus go into the tomb (grave site) of Lazarus?

BIBLE TRIVIA-What took Elijah into heaven?
Answer for today    a whirlwind    2 Kings 2:11

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY    Mark 1:9-13
At that time Jesus came from the town of Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan River. 10 Immediately, as Jesus was coming up out of the water, he saw heaven open. The Holy Spirit came down on him like a dove, 11 and a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love, and I am very pleased with you.”
12 Then the Spirit sent Jesus into the desert. 13 He was in the desert forty days and was tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals, and the angels came and took care of him.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying man Father, we know that Satan is a thief who “comes only to steal and kill and destroy” and millions fall victim to his enticements. Knowing our inclination to sin, help us to honor our bodies in such a way that we don’t purposefully arouse lust in others by our dress or behavior, nor do we feed on lust by gazing upon that which is dishonorable in Your sight. We desire purity and holiness as we daily pursue Your righteousness. Forgive us where we have resented, ignored, or disobeyed Your truths in this area of our lives. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, and enough hope to make you happy-
