Tuesday November 25, 2014 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-Sometimes the greatest gift you can give is sincerely giving your presence-
2-Day 3 changed everything-
3-Forgiveness is grace and mercy wrapped with love-
4-If our belief in God is rooted solely in the shallow soil of human emotions, this shallowness will be evident in the fruit that our faith produces-
5-If people are not on your heart, they will get on your nerves-

STRANGE THOUGHT-Running water does not flow backwards-

I'VE LEARNED-There is no future in any job, the future is in the person-

DID YOU KNOW-Every time Beethoven sat down to write music, he poured ice water over his head-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Where was Lazarus' soul the four days he was buried in the tomb?
2-Why did Jesus say "No one is good except God alone"?  Shouldn't he have included himself?
3-Why did Jesus not want to be called "good teacher"?
4-What did Jesus mean saying "How hard it is to enter the kingdom of God"?
5-Why is it hard for people of wealth to follow Jesus?

BIBLE TRIVIA-Who fed Elijah after he prayed to the Lord to take his life?
Answer for today    an angel  1 king 19:4-8

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY    Mark 1:14-20
14 After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, preaching the Good News from God. 15 He said, “The right time has come. The kingdom of God is near. Change your hearts and lives and believe the Good News!”
16 When Jesus was walking by Lake Galilee, he saw Simon[a] and his brother Andrew throwing a net into the lake because they were fishermen. 17 Jesus said to them, “Come follow me, and I will make you fish for people.” 18 So Simon and Andrew immediately left their nets and followed him.
19 Going a little farther, Jesus saw two more brothers, James and John, the sons of Zebedee. They were in a boat, mending their nets. 20 Jesus immediately called them, and they left their father in the boat with the hired workers and followed Jesus.

Footnotes:

  1. 1:16 Simon Simon’s other name was Peter.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying man Father, we don’t want to merely listen to Your Word and so deceive ourselves thinking that we have fulfilled the law of Christ. Instead we want to listen and apply Your truths, thereby obeying Your commands and honoring You in all we think, say and do. Take Your truth, plant it deep in us; shape and fashion us in Your likeness so that the light of Christ will be seen in us through our acts of love, our deeds of faith, and our words of truth. Fulfill in us Your purposes for Your own glory and honor we pray. Amen.

I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER, FORGIVENESS AND THANKSGIVING!
