Sunday November 9, 2014 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
1-Crucifixion was not a Jewish form of execution,  it was exclusive to the Romans and was generally reserved for cases of runaway slaves or rebellion against Rome-
2-In Jesus own time, in the nearby town of Ganola, an insurrection by Jews had met with similar roman execution-
3-Jesus' earliest followers faced persecution and death both at the hands of Jewish authorities and the Roman government-
4-The early Christians spent much of their time debating kosher foods and circumcision-
5-Much of the new Testament deals with the tensions and rivalries between two factions-
1-Those who believed that anyone who wanted to follow Jesus must convert to Judaism-
2-Those who wanted to take the "good news" to the non Jewish world-

STRANGE THOUGHT-What do the screen savors look like of people who live in the tropics?

I'VE LEARNED-Forgiveness frees us from continuing to hold on to our pain-

DID YOU KNOW-Christopher Columbus had blond hair-

5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-How important was the observance of the Sabbath to Jesus?
2-To Jesus, was healing someone, work?
3-To Jesus was doing good on the Sabbath permitted?
4-Did Jesus teach his disciples and followers everything they needed to know when he would be back with his father?
5-Were parables meant to be simple or difficult to understand to whom they were directed?

BIBLE TRIVIA-What did Elisha do to make an ax head float to the surface of the water?
Answer for today   He threw a stick into the water   2 Kings 6:4-7

SCRIPTURE FOR THE DAY    Romans 12:13
13 Share with God’s people who need help. Bring strangers in need into your homes.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Praying man Father, Your Word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. Your Word is eternal and it stands firm in the heavens.  You give us understanding to learn your commands and the fortitude to apply these principles which is a life-changing process over our lifetime.  Help us to carefully exegete the Word of God as we contend for the faith once and for all entrusted to the saints. We will contend for the faith in a steadfast manner when we daily apply the doctrine of the apostles and live it out through the Spirit of Christ in whose name we pray. Amen.

I WISH YOU LOVE IN YOUR HEART.....PEACE IN YOUR SOUL.....AND JOY IN YOUR LIFE.....ALWAYS!!!
