Saturday June 18, 2011 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Repentance is a change of understanding-
2-God is concerned about our listening-
3-Reading the scriptures is not the same as listening to the scriptures-
4-The listening we do depends on what we want to hear-
5-The most successful people don't get to the top because of what happens to them, rather because of how they respond to what happens to them-
STRANGE THOUGHT-How do you know when you are out of invisible ink?
I'VE LEARNED-As you cherish the things most worthwhile in your life, you find it all comes back to family-
DID YOU KNOW-There are more than 100 chemicals in one cup of coffee-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-Should our conscience be our guide?
2-What is "separation from the world" and what does it mean?
3-What part does sanctification play in showing the fruits of the spirit?
4-How can we love God whom we cannot see?
5-How do you know if the thoughts that come to mind are from God?
BIBLE TRIVIA-What unfortunate woman was gang raped, then cut into twelve pieces and sent to the tribes of Israel?
Yesterday's answer-Rahab Joshua 6:17
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY Ephesians 1:1-10
God Unites His People
1 From Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus. I am an apostle because that is what God wanted.

To God's holy people living in Ephesus, believers in Christ Jesus:

2 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Spiritual Blessings in Christ
3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. In Christ, God has given us every spiritual blessing in the heavenly world.4 That is, in Christ, he chose us before the world was made so that we would be his holy people—people without blame before him.5 Because of his love, God had already decided to make us his own children through Jesus Christ. That was what he wanted and what pleased him,6 and it brings praise to God because of his wonderful grace. God gave that grace to us freely, in Christ, the One he loves.7 In Christ we are set free by the blood of his death, and so we have forgiveness of sins. How rich is God's grace,8 which he has given to us so fully and freely. God, with full wisdom and understanding,9 let us know his secret purpose. This was what God wanted, and he planned to do it through Christ.10 His goal was to carry out his plan, when the right time came, that all things in heaven and on earth would be joined together in Christ as the head.
PRAYER FOR TODAY

Oh God the King eternal, who divides the day from the darkness, and has turned the shadow of death into the light of morning; I pray that this day you will incline my heart to keep your commandments, driving temptation from my mind. Guide my feet into the way of peace; that having done your will with cheerfulness while it was day, I may, when the night comes, rejoice in giving you thanks for a day lived in your presence; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.
GREATLY BLESSED, HIGHLY FAVORED, IMPERFECT BUT FORGIVEN CHILD OF GOD
