Tuesday June 6, 2011 thought for the day

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
1-Nothing will ever be attempted if all possible objections must first be overcome-
2-When you are on your cross and die to self, you are 3 days from your resurrection-
3-When we get into trouble we tend to get amnesia and forget God-
4-Legalists are fault finders-
5-Law without love produces a pharisee-
STRANGE THOUGHT-You may have a heart of gold, but so does a hard boiled egg-
I'VE LEARNED-The credentials on the wall do not make you a decent person-
DID YOU KNOW-Lemons contain more sugar than strawberries-
5 THINGS I WANT TO KNOW
1-How do you know when you have enough information to make a decision?
2-What makes you feel worthy?
3-Is the conscience a good guide?
4-If your conscience is clear are you innocent?
5-Does God ever do a "cost analysis" on your ministry?
BIBLE TRIVIA-What shepherd girl became the much loved wife of Jacob?
Yesterday's answer-Luke 17:32
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY Colossians 1:1-14
Only Christ Can Save People
1 From Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus. I am an apostle because that is what God wanted. Also from Timothy, our brother.

2 To the holy and faithful brothers and sisters in Christ that live in Colossae:

Grace and peace to you from God our Father.

3 In our prayers for you we always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,4 because we have heard about the faith you have in Christ Jesus and the love you have for all of God's people.5 You have this faith and love because of your hope, and what you hope for is kept safe for you in heaven. You learned about this hope when you heard the message about the truth, the Good News6 that was told to you. Everywhere in the world that Good News is bringing blessings and is growing. This has happened with you, too, since you heard the Good News and understood the truth about the grace of God. 7 You learned about God's grace from Epaphras, whom we love. He works together with us and is a faithful servant of Christ for us. 8 He also told us about the love you have from the Holy Spirit.

9 Because of this, since the day we heard about you, we have continued praying for you, asking God that you will know fully what he wants. We pray that you will also have great wisdom and understanding in spiritual things10 so that you will live the kind of life that honors and pleases the Lord in every way. You will produce fruit in every good work and grow in the knowledge of God.11 God will strengthen you with his own great power so that you will not give up when troubles come, but you will be patient. 12 And you will joyfully give thanks to the Father who has made you able to have a share in all that he has prepared for his people in the kingdom of light. 13 God has freed us from the power of darkness, and he brought us into the kingdom of his dear Son. 14 The Son paid for our sins, and in him we have forgiveness.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Lord, give me the strength to greet the coming day in peace. Help me in all things to rely on Your holy will. Reveal Your will to me every hour of the day. Bless my dealings with all people. Teach me to treat all people who come to me throughout the day with peace of soul and with firm conviction that Your will governs all. In all my deeds and words guide my thoughts and feelings. In unexpected events, let me not forget that all are sent by you.

Teach me to act firmly and wisely, without embittering and embarrassing others. Give me the physical strength to bear the labors of this day. Direct my will, teach me to pray, pray in me.

Amen.
GREATLY BLESSED, HIGHLY FAVORED, IMPERFECT BUT FORGIVEN CHILD OF GOD!!!
